I don't think you'll have to worry about the teamwork, there won't be any with 60 players. Maybe you and a couple of friends will team up, but don't expect much teamwork for your entire team.

yes i believe so don't take my word but i know there are 5 squads on each team

i also know for online co-op the have medic assult and all those classes which will hopefully carry on into the online multiplayer team deathmatch. As for 60 player deathmatch there will be mass chaos for sure but i like fast paced games like UT.

Boy oh boy it's going to be a harsh slap to the face for PS3 fanboys when it's finally realized more does not necessiarly mean better; in fact, it rarely does.

never to many options COD4 for example for PC limitless mods addons options and it is the best version for that specific fact

guys: 70 completely uniqe maps defies all good logic and reason.

these are either variants of a larger map (like Warhawk or Perfect Dark Zero or Gran Turismo) or...no...that's the only possibility.

they obviously didn't make 70 unique maps. they don't have the time to do it and do it well. it's an impossible task.

I expect there are maybe 15 big maps that scale. up or down, depending on the number of participants.

I doubt there'll be 70 maps out of the box but it still sounds like an epic amount of content available at launch.

When it was revealed that Motorstorm would have 8 tracks, you laughed and laughed.

And when it is revealed that R2 will have 70 multiplayer maps, you "doubt it will have care" and doubt each one will be "unique." You even suspect there will be repeats.

The irony is in the fact that you never stopped to think that the maps in Motorstorm might have a great deal of care and variety, even that each track would have multiple paths all the way through the track.

Why try and pin something down before it releases, anyway? Why play this stupid number game?

Unless you're facing everyone, then you have no right claiming it as something different, same map or not they might as well be in different lobbies if its 6v6. Hilarious they try to pawn the multiplayer off as 30v30 when its 6v6. :lol:

We all know that Gears 2 will get nominated for GOTY,and R2 will not get even get mentioned...

Just like the first 1

I was going to buy a ps3 for RFOM a year and half ago.

But when my mate beat me to the punch,i thank god he did!

Cause what i played was a genric boring typical shooter,that looked dry and lifeless

It was nothing compared to Gears of War.

2 looks better,but we know its just high hopes thinking R2 will be better then gears 2

Sounds like Battlefield 2. And unless they can add custom maps then that really isn't impressive against most PC shooters which usually have far more quality community maps than what come with the original game.

Except Insomniac has a track record of making quality games and doesn't disappoint or fail to deliver on their promises. They don't put crap in a game just to say that its there. They put it in for a reason and only if it works. Keep up your current attitude and you'll be the one getting slapped in the face in a few months.

There are two variants to multiplayer. The first one will be like Resistance 1 where its two groups going against each other, probably 20 on 20 will be the max, like it was in the first game. The other variant is where your team is split into squads, where you play on the same map, and interact with each other, but you have various objectives, so you aren't just having a 30 vs 30 cluster **** of team death match.

lolol at the people saying 70 is to much. my favourite online shooters have hundreds of maps and i love it. one of the reasons why i dont like COD4 is becuase the lack of maps

this is pertaining to team deathmatch there is more than 1 mode deathmatch will be a full on brawl

i've played resistance and the game itself was so second rate compared to gears that i couldn't play the mp for more than ten minutes. how is autoaim that practially earns the kill for you deep?

gears is still top 5 most played game on live for the past 2 years. and if gears is so shallow then i must be imagining how hard of a time people new to the game have at playing the online. in resistance anyone can pickup and play and the autoaim practically gets the kills for you

There can be anywhere between 8 and 60 players on a map, as well as different modes. There has to be a big variation of maps.

Of which about 10 will be actually played, 70 maps is overkill they will be copies of one another with hardly any unique qualities, and people will play a set few and thats a fact it all ways happens that way people play a certain set of maps that are fun.

lol, auto aim gets the kills for you? Nope, sorry doesn't work that way. You stick with auto aim and you'll get slaughtered by anyone outside of an average to below average player. Auto aim doesn't put the reticle on the head, but experienced players will aim for the head, thus killing you far faster than you will kill them using auto aim to hit them in the torso...

gears is so limited in terms of options and variety in multiplayer that its disgusting. I'll take the two separate races in Resistance, up to 40 players (lag free) in a match over gears. Plus Resistance has more gametypes and situational use weapons...

Auto aim doesn't put the reticle on the head, but experienced players will aim for the head, thus killing you far faster than you will kill them using auto aim to hit them in the torso...

gears is so limited in terms of options and variety in multiplayer that its disgusting. I'll take the two separate races in Resistance, up to 40 players (lag free) in a match over gears. Plus Resistance has more gametypes and situational use weapons...

Yeah, you can say that you enjoyed Gears more then Resistance and all, but there is one blatant truth: Resistance had a more robust multiplayer. Clans, parties, matchmaking, an XP system, customization, stat tracking, 40 players, tons of maps (all scalable) and tons of little options to tweak the match.

In Gears you could... well... choose what weapons were on the map. That's about it.

Yeah, you can say that you enjoyed Gears more then Resistance and all, but there is one blatant truth: Resistance had a more robust multiplayer. Clans, parties, matchmaking, an XP system, customization, stat tracking, 40 players, tons of maps (all scalable) and tons of little options to tweak the match.

In Gears you could... well... choose what weapons were on the map. That's about it.

exacty. I'm not going to sit here and tell someone that they are wrong for enjoying Gears more than Resistance or Resistance more than Gears, but labeling Gears as a deeper multiplayer game is just wrong

If resistance delivers its going to deliver more than any game has delivered anything in a long long long time hahaha

I mean if everything they are doing ends up working, this game at its lowest will be EPIC

You can say that thats just too many blablabla, but idk, im getting sick of playing multiplayer games like halo and having to play on the same few maps over and over and over again, so this is great news. Even if a few kinda suck who cares there is going to be alot of awesome maps in this guarenteed

Your inexperience is showing. You obviously haven't played Resistance's multiplayer if you think Gears is deeper and has more variety.

i've played resistance and the game itself was so second rate compared to gears that i couldn't play the mp for more than ten minutes. how is autoaim that practially earns the kill for you deep?

gears is still top 5 most played game on live for the past 2 years. and if gears is so shallow then i must be imagining how hard of a time people new to the game have at playing the online. in resistance anyone can pickup and play and the autoaim practically gets the kills for you

40 players was a mess. and lol @ aiming for the head being deep. that is a drastically different than any other shooter. and if you think the autoaim doesn't help the average player than you're in denial. i played only the rfom single player once before i hopped online and i was doing just as well as i do in any other shooter.

in gears it took me 2 weeks to score more than 1-2 kills in a match.

cows love comparing their average run of the mill shooters to AAA shooters.

Don't brag about taking two weeks to get more than 1-2 kills per match. Thats nothing to brag about.

Resistance DOES have a deep multiplayer system in terms of custimization, but thats not a big deal really. Socom and Halo have an even more robust multiplayer options IMO (important ones). Personally, I found Resistance an average FPS, the weapons were cool, but the game just didn't entice me to want to play and play and play.

Edit: Options wise to custimize multiplayer, Resistance is better. Deep as in tactical-wise, it could go either way I think.
