If you were to choose and play either one of their co-operative multiplayers, which would you choose

Resistance 2's co-op has:

support for 8 players

splitscreen offline + online

unique classes

huge boss fights

a ton of enemies on screen at once

experience points system

Left 4 Dead's co-op has:

support for 4 players

ability to revive your teammates

fun mission objectives

zombies

Both co-ops:

strongly rely on teamwork and communication

has scary things running at you

On paper, Resistance 2's co-op probably sounds more awesome but I'd probably go with Left 4 Dead for its more realistic atmosphere.

Left 4 Dead hands down for me when playing with friends, much more fun. If I am playing online against other people then R2, does not feel the same playing Left 4 Dead without friends.

well spoken and I agree with whodeysay85

I personally like R2 more because i find it a lot more frantic but l4d has its moments (even though I am not the biggest fan)

this

also: L4D is the best multiplayer game to date, it may only be 4 people, but that dosent mean its not fun. I enjoy it more than 50 player games of cod4

Ridiculous question. Only staunch cows should be able to honestly answer Resistance 2. -_-... I guess those looking for a simpler experience could say Resistance 2...

Resistance 2 has WAY more depth and needs more skill. And needs actual cooperation (aka spec ops supplying ammo and medics healing). Lots and lots of cooperation

Left 4 Dead isn't a bad game by any means. It's very enjoyable, but it lacks alot of depth that I expected it to have. It's insanely overrated.

I dunno I kinda got tired of resistance 2's co-op because it just got too easy, especially if you have the full 8 player team. I would like to try L4D though.

Resistence 2's cooperative play mode was executed very well, but Left 4 Dead is more fun for me. Considering the game's main concept is playing with your friends, I don't find it too surprising.

Yes, millions of hordes of zombies coming at you does fit the term "realistic atmosphere"

lol but yeah in all honesty Left 4 Dead was built around co-op so i would imagine it to be the better choice.

I just didn't like L4D after playing R2 because L4D is missing alot of the depth which R2 has. It's not a bad game by any means but staying close to your teammates and shooting enemies isn't coop in my books.

Here's the difference between these two coop modes:

With Resistance 2's coop you're not playing in the story campaign cooperatively, you're playing an entire alternate perspective of it.  And I could understand why you couldn't coop in the story campaign mode because it was a weak story with uninteresting characters.  Anyway, the coop didn't really have a story, all you do is kill the enemies so a gate can open, kill more bigger enemies so the next gate can open, and so on.  Some people might like that simple basic thing, so yeah.

While with Left 4 Dead's coop, you're actually doing cooperative play in the main story mode itself.  So you and your friends will experience the story together.  And the way the story is presented is like a movie.  Heck if you checked out the hype threads for Left 4 Dead you probably saw the cool movie posters for each campaign.  Also every playthough in Left 4 Dead will be different, so it's not like Resistance 2's coop where you have to kill these expected enemies  so that expected gate can open, it's just different everytime you play so you will always choose a different path and always have different strategy in Left 4 Dead.

Left 4 Dead was created with coop in mind while Resistance 2 coop was designed to be a mess.   I mean think about think, what if all of you wanted to be the heavy gunner or whatever in Resistance 2, now what.  That just mean that being the medic wasn't neccessary, because you could actually advance even if all of your team were heavy gunners.  So I don't think Resistance 2's coop have depth at all.

So both coop of these two can be fun for anyone but if you want the better thoughtout coop Resistance 2 is left for dead and Left 4 Dead is the better choice to have a better experience.

Because GRIMMS are the zombies in Resistance 2 and you can't play as them while you could play as zombies in Left 4 Dead.  Shooting zombies are the IT thing this season for shooters, but only in Left 4 Dead is where you can play as one.

Your information is wrong TC. Left 4 Dead has both offline and online split screen for both PC and 360 and tons of enemies on screen at once; on expert you can have as many as 30(Could be more) zombies it seems clawing at you at the same time, including bosses.

Expert requires insane amounts of cooperation. soo much so that if you have even one bot you are pretty much screwed. (like I said in another thread it took us 2 hours to beat the last stage of No Mercy and it was usually because the our strategy would fall apart the second the bot got involved.

Isn't this what the thread is about? It's about which game has the better co-op multiplayer, right? Then hands down that goes to L4D. R2 plays out the same, L4D doesn't and that's why it will last much longer in the gaming community and gain much more support, while R2 will slowly fade away, only to have KZ2 pick up the slack. Playing L4D on expert with friends is the most fun I have had in a game in a loooong time.

I'd love to have both... but L4D was just amazing as a demo, that I can't wait for the full game. Not to mention Valve will support the thing anyways, and overall... Zombies>>>>Chimeras. Fact of life. Zombies are always more fun to kill. :D

of course it will i wonder why?

njean777

because it is the better game. duh.

Not really R2 has everything while l4d is mainly for mp.

I would still take L4D over R2 any day of the week.
