Resistance: Fall of Man (the new Halo)

When Halo 1 came out it really wasn't a breakaway smash hit sensation...it grew on people and became slowly so popular that it's sequel was worshipped like a religous gathering. :o

At first games like GTA III and FF X eclipsed the game and people didn't even know what the crap Halo was other than a goofy game with aliens and a green guy. I think the same can be said for Resistance...

This game is great and people have picked the game up and really become fond of it over time. I believe the game has sold roughly 2.5 million copies to date and has a pretty big fanbase...and besides...just look at the game!

Actually, that isn't true. You just need to look at the reviews to see why.

Halo has an average in the vicinity of 96% on Gamerankings. Resistance's average isn't even above 90.

People who played Halo at the time it was released knew it was something exceptional. This is not true with Resistance.

What? I played the first few levels, and never touched it since. The animations were horible and the gameplay I personally found the be very boring...

It still looks like WWII with aliens despite the "story".

I'm not saying Halo is a bad game...just that I feel like Resistance will grow into the same thing Halo was....a great game that spawns huge sequels that blow everyone away. The game does a lot of new and bold things for the genre like using motion controls the way it does, slow mo sniping, setting bullseye trap things, and weapons like the Auger and Hedgehog are innovative and fun.

The game has the same magic Halo did...I remember people playing Halo forever to the point of insanity....and I also remember people either lovin or hating the game....This game will be the new Halo...KZ2 will be great but I think Resistance 2 will be better.

Halo 1 set the standard and completely raised the bar for console shooters. It was the FIRST console shooter that could make a legit claim that it could run with the PC shooters. Want proof of that. Halo COmbat Evolved was released a year later with an online mp on the PC and got AAA, well after the wow factor of the game was gone.

Halo 2 set the standard for Console online shooter MP.

and you put Resistance in the same sentence as that game. Much less make the claim that Resistance is the next......Halo.

Halo 3 will be above and beyond anything any Resistance game will ever see in terms of success. Ill bet on that.jg4xchamp

"And heck GTA 3?" A begrudging nod to GTA?! GTA 3 revolutionized video gaming. OOT was just another in a long line of Zelda rehashes, despite how good and well received it was. Mario 64? Eh? Where's the revolution there?

Every game that has some kind of a "sandbox" component owes everything to GTA.

All the Spiderman games. Hulk. Saint's Row. Superman. The Simpsons Hit & Run. Mercenaries. Just Cause. True Crime. Driver 3. NARC. Destroy All Humans! There are more and more and more, those are just the ones that came to me right away.

I don't even think Mario 64 deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as GTA. Maybe Super Mario Bros, but Mario 64? Meh.

Resistance is better than Halo IMO. Killzone 2 is another game that will be better than the Halo series. Hell, Warhawk is better than any 360 game I've ever played and it's online only.newimagejkep

Halo was just there at the right time. I thought it was good, but the second one fell short. Since then games have evolved and better FPS have came out. Halo is no longer the standard in FPS. I have no need to even play the new Halo bc theres so many other better games coming out.
