What do you get for 8 dollars:

World Servers allowing you to play Region Europe, Japan, Aussie, and Korea

Two Maps: Westmorland and Camborde

Report function: Report cheaters

New clan update: Allowing you to convert clan leaders and changing rosters.

Grive

So you get two maps and functions that should've been there at launch?

I don't want to be attack as I'm this "cow" that laugh at micro-transactions. I never did that. I think Micro-transaction will be common like power buttons on consoles. We all going to have them. No matter what console it is. Shame on anyone who thinks other wise.IbukiNinja

Well, it's not directed specifically at you... it's just that raving cows have been annoying ever since the first pack came out in XBL with "the MS sucks becooz of teh microtransaions/nickel&diming/milkage", and this is pretty much a funny thing, especially since they're either gonna ignore or damage control this.

Not to mention, you did raise the "damage control" flag, and took the first potshot at xbl, so...

How convienient that he omitted that...

[QUOTE="Blue-Sphere"][QUOTE="IbukiNinja"]This is not milkage when you consider that Online is free. XBL you pay for online and the maps.IbukiNinja

2 maps for $8 isn't at least a little milkage? :?

Well, if you want to view it that way sure. No matter what console you on you going to have micro-transactions. Welcome to next-gen.

Ok then. But the Cows are gettin dangerously close to their usual hypocrisy when they called milkage of the recent Gears of War maps.

I took the potshot due to reaction. I'm just paying for micro-transactions. XBL members have to pay for online and micro-transactions. You be the judge who getting milked the most?

I wasn't even here about the Gears of War map packs. This is a shame when sweeping generalizations are allowed.

It wasn't directed to you, I was just mentioning the Cows who did try to call milkage, and are now tryin to spin this one.

Well, seems like I'm the only here defending it. Yes, I am the only one defending it. I guess you have to be talking about me.

Sony is offering online play for free. They need to make that money from somewhere for the last time.

That's because there's no debating this. 2 maps for $8 is milkage. If your gonna turn it into XBL vs. PSN, paid vs. free, then that's getting into another argument which has good and bad from both sides which has already been argued abajillion times.

IbukiNinja

Well, that potshot is what got you plunked with the previously anti-microtransaction cow crowd.

As for the $50 XBL, we can debate that all day long. XBL offers stuff that PSN lacks, so far we're factual. $50 for those features? Well, we have a debate here. What is hardly debatable is that $4 per map is rather more expensive than what you get on XBL.

The problem with your argument comes when I say "you got $200+ milked out of you because you had to purchase a blu-ray player too with your console". It's a development of the exact same logic and mindset you used to lump XBL along with microtransactions.

$16 for two maps??? No way, and I thought all the xbl maps I bought were a rip.

Gta3-fan334

I think its $8.00 for both....

No its $16.00.

I guess I got the second map for free as I only paid $7.99.

What you are being charged for with Live is available for free on other platforms (not the PS3) but is available for free on the PC, since it is available for free on another platform, what is Microsoft's excuse?

Basic online play should be free, if they want to charge for something, they should charge for other features....such as the features you guys brag about when people compare PSN to Live.

[QUOTE="killab2oo5"]Lol,7.99$ for 2 maps seems more reasonable. Thanks for clearing that up.:PI wanna change the title to "Restance maps 7.99 for 2 maps?!?!" just for the traffic, but that would be a bit unfair.IbukiNinja

No problem. PS3 news is so quick to get bash on around here. This is why I fail to see people comment on a system so much when they don't have one. Also, R:FOM map packs wasn't the first MT on the PS3. We had MT since January.

I wasnt trying to bash,I just want to be the first to report the news.

Got'cha. I understand and will say I'm not up for all this milkage stuff. I think if you want something you get it. No one is force to get a product in the first place. What we do is a hobby and it should be enjoyed. I have nothing but praise for XBL as it teaching PSN on what it should be to have an online service. I'll try my best not scooping to fanboys level and claim milkage in the future.

What happened to all the "Microsoft milks you by making you buy stuff", Cows? Sony's making you pay for this stuff.
