Resistance wants to be Halo.
Grawse
No it doesn't. Other than it being a sci fi FPS it's nothing like Halo.
Halo wins, it's combat evolved.
JC-Watts
Didn't evolved that much, but yeah Halo wins.
Let's see what the folks of Insomniac have in store for us with R3. Hopefully it fixes what they got wrong with R2.

The first one was pretty much Halo + Half Life 2. Resistance 2 was Halo + Call of Duty :P[QUOTE="JC-Watts"]

Leaving the story aside, they feel identical, and that is how a lot of ps3 gamers feel after trying halo for the first time. I've not really played r2, but that does look like a step up, in regard to multiplayer at least.Halo by farMkavanaugh77In what way? U may prefer the setting or the story in halo, but my initial impressions are that halo has nothing on resistance in gameplay, and gets absolutely destroyed by cod

They don't feel anything alike. When has any Halo gun had an alternate fire? When has Halo (not including Reach) had a sprint button? When has Halo taken place in WW2? When has Halo had more than 16 player multiplayer? When has Halo had Berzerks? They are very different.

This. I really do not understand why people continue to compare the two. Anyway I choose Halo. RFOM was really good IMO but R2 was really boring to me. Hopefully R3 is better.
Lol halo by a landslide. Resistance 1 was good but 2 sucked and Halo has had 4 great games.(ODST and Halo Wars suck)

Hardly. I could see you not liking the campaign as it wasn't anything special, but it has a well rounded multiplayer portion. The co-op was very well done.
The comparison of gunplay between the two is a wash. They both have a decent variety in weapons. Both have control schemes that are great once you get used to them. Mechanically, the difference is that Halo has online co-op and vehicles, a tremendous amount of game type customization, theater and forge. That's a lot right there.
Outside of that, it boils down to the setting and the story.
Although I think the Halo series has went a little downhill from Halo 2, it seems to have took a big step forward with Reach. So I say the Halo series. It just gives you that epic feeling in the campaign, from the score, and the music, down to the expansive worlds, Halo is just a top notch franchise! Resistance is good, and pretty fun, but not up to par compared to the Halo series imo.
Loved resistance 1, from what I saw Iam not gonna play resistance 2 didn't like the changes since to me the first game was awesome. I can only hope 3 will be like 1 and if this is the case then resistance is in a league of its own.Resistance wants to be Halo.

Resistance 1 didnt really want to be halo... But I think its pretty obvious that R2 was DYING to be halo. Like it threw out almost all of the trademarks that the first game had in favor for mechanics that Halo had
I don't see the point in comparing the two. The first Resistance is an underrated gem that was a huge throwback to old school shooters. It played nothing like Halo, and other than featuring monsters and a few plasma weapons they really have nothing in common. R2 felt a lot more like Halo, but then again pretty much all FPS titles play the same way now. Regenerating health, two weapons, slow movement.*Yawn* Resistance 3 better for like FoM, even though I did enjoy 2, FoM was just great.
I hope and pray Duke Nukem Forever won't play like everything else we have these days...
I say Resistance and for a simple reason. Being mostly a single player guy, I find the campaigns in Halo... well, underwhelming.
While Insomniac seems to have put some effort into making the single player in Resistance worthwhile.
Ive only played the first couple missions of Reach, but wow is it bad.
Resistance > Halo for campaign.
I always noticed that Halo campaigns don't quite feel like a single player experience. The wide open maps and repetive skirmishes are the opposite of what I want from a campaign (like HalfLife or something).
Halo > Resistance for multiplayer obviously.
