Resistance Vs Halo 3 no 56k

I know you shouldn't be comparing a finished game to one that isn't, but I'm going to post this anyway, found it on another website.

I'll start, Halo 3 is better looking. ;)

How can anyone honestly think Halo looks better? Anyways I never thought Resistance wasnt much of a looker but it sure does look better then Halo, well at this point.

Ill like to throw out there Resistance MP is underrated.

Halo 3 will be a second gen 360 game, Gears of war was a first gen game since it released under a year of xbox 360 even being out.

Halo 3 Beta does look better than resistance just wait to its finished there already done making halo 3 they just getting out all the bugs and polishing it and have 4 months to do it:D

halo 3 will be 2nd gen as long as it comes out b4 nov 22nd, and since they confirmed september 25th its 2nd gen

This could have waited until H3 was released... and isn't going to prove anything either way.  If people say H3 looks better, we get "bu but teh 2nd/3rd gen vs. 1st gen game!".  If people say Resistance looks better we get "bu but it's teh BETA" or "single player looks better than multiplayer for H3" (see above).

Despite this, I think that in most of the screenshot comparisons, resistance actually looks better, surprisingly. 

not only shouldn't you compare a finished game to an unfinished game... but of course halo 3 is going to look better at this stage... it's the 360's flagship title and is being released a year after resistence.. of course it's going to look better. this topic fails reasonably hard.nickmag

After playing the Halo 3 beta for the past week. Ive decided. its garbage. the graphics arent going to change. they are near final. the only thing they have time to do is turn up the Anti Aliasing (if there is any to begin with, holy jaggies batman!) and a few other entriely minor tweaks. all of you spouting off about "Its just a Beta" have no clue what youre talking about (I do, becasue im a game design student. one such class ive taken was called "game development cycles" guess what it was about)jigglebilly1983

According to Insomniac, it's because Resistance didn't support texture-streaming from the Blu-ray disk. They had to choose very carefully where to spend their high-res textures. Apparently that will be a mute point in future projects though, as Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction already fully supports it.

Anyway, in my opinion they are both roughly on par. They each excell in certain areas - Resistance has better detail and much more going on, while Halo is sharper and arguably has better lighting.

Some of this H3 pictures are from the alpha anyway i like H3 graphics more, Resistance colours are to saimilar all the time.

H3 graphics will improve especially for the sp.

you are showing the online multi player.......Halo's single player is still unknown.....

that, and. resistance looks great on pictures from this size. on a big HD screen however the low res textures become appearent 

resistance does look better and thats sad :/

This is really funny.  It almost looked like the thread started was trying to make Resistance look better.  Because side by side in shots Resistance blows Halo 3 out.  Resistance looks realist while Halo 3 looks like a polished Mario 64 graphics.  Armor is easy to look shiny.  Skin is not, Resistance more points for trying harder on that as well.  Look at the sharpness of RFOM compared to the blury pics that were just posted.  Sharp but blury compared to Resistance.  Look at the two guys laying there dead as well.  And the first should were Resistance background looked cleaner and more life like.

I doubt they are halo3s real graphics, i mean really. Bungie always does this, they keep things secret and bait people into believeing what isnt true so they can suprise them later. Why would they let just about anyone beta the finished game? Most of those textures still look halo 2.

I wonder why Cows were bashing Halo 3's graphics when their flagship shooter doesn't look better?

R:FoM look better, both in graphics and art style. But, Halo 3 is not out yet, so I'll reserve my final judgement until then.

I would like to make a solid point.  Halo has been designed by Bungie for 3 installments now.  Resistance was designed for the first time by Insomniac.  Resistance is also a 3rd party, while Haloe is a 1st party game.  Yet, Resistance looks better.  Hmm, THE POWA of the CELL?  Ethier that or Bungie is incompetent.  This is also Insomniacs first time in first person shooters if I'm not mistaken.  And yet, its story blows away Halo 2, and may or may not blow away halo 3 since halo 3 may not have enough memory on its small 9 gig dvd to hold a game with fuller things to top Resistance.  Halo 3 = let down.   E3 in July Killzone 2 will be revealed.  I got bets, that it will smoke Halo 3 in all angles.caseypayne69
