What are the pros and cons of both?

Neither are very good.
R:FoM was fun back at the beginning of this gen but now it feels very outdated, R2 was good despite a lot of people not liking the changes made to the series. R3's MP is a joke though and at launch was barely playable.
Killzone 2 had great maps and balance but the controls were pretty bad. Killzone 3 had better controls but everything else was fairly bad and had less features than its predecessor
killzone, killzone 2 is by far the best fps I played in my life and I play loads of them. resistance also good, just not as good
pretty much exactly how i feel. well saidNeither are very good.

Easily Killzone. It's amazing the amount of detailing the game has. Animations, AI, lighting and just about everything comes toghther to create an amazingly kinectic game. It's a shame that KZ2 had better maps and I think less arcadey gameplay, because KZ3 has better visuals and controls. Oh well, I am still enjoying 3 online as it's better than most FPS MP.
[QUOTE="dracolich55"]Whats so bad about the KZ2 controls? In case you didn't know, they were SUPPOSED to be like that.BPoole96
Input lag
lol, just to save you some time here was the standard sw answer every time i complained about the gunplay in that game back in the day.gawd! everyone knows guns weigh a ton and it takes 20 seconds to make a 180 degree turn in real life gawd!
then i'm all, no they don't you could hold the heaviest single operator weapon ever made and turn 180 degrees in less than a second and then they are all nuh-uh and i'm all yuh-huh and they are all nuh-uh.

Resistance has the better weapons set. By a good margi. Killzone has the better game though, the enemies are better, as is the intensity of the game.
Killzone gets my vote, but not by much. I would say the multiplayer in killzone is also better.

It's so rare for a game (especially a console game) to have maps as good as Killzone's. They are just amazingly well designed. And they look and feel the part too.
Killzone 2 had the best MP Resistance 3 had the best campaign. I give the edge to Killzone 2. jg4xchamp
? You got it backwards Resistance has the better mp( co-op is beast) compared to the sluggish KZ2
Resistance 2 campaign felt dull though compared to the amazing set peices and level design in KZ2 though Rico makes me want to break my controller

Eh controls complaints aside I was talking strictly competitive. I'd give that edge to Killzone 2 any day of the week. It was one of the better cIass based game. But agreed in spite of Resistance 2 being mostly crap. That coop kicked ass.[QUOTE="SevenzFlow"][QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]Killzone 2 had the best MP Resistance 3 had the best campaign. He was talking about R3's campaign. If you wanna bring multiplayer into it R2 destroys just about everything on consoles.

It was just overflowing with awesome. You just mad because it outdid Halo 3 :P

my b I misread that I just assumed we were comparing Resistance 2 vs killzone 2.
lol R2 has a good mp but not that good
Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 were my co-games of the year for 2011, with Crysis 2 being right behind them.
Killzone 3:
Amazing graphics
The best gunplay I've ever experienced on a console first person shooter.
Animations are top notch. Filling an enemy with lead looks extremely realistic and satisfying.
The game is dark and gritty, with those violent and satisfying melee kills.
All the guns feel great.
Resistance 3:
They brought back the weapon wheel, and each and every weapon feels great.
Ammo is scarce, so you're forced to use each and every weapon in your arsenal, which is a plus because they're so great.
No regenerating health. I can't emphasize how much I like this, because it reminds me of old school shooters. When you're low on health and desperately trying to fend off enemies and stay alive, nothing creates more tension. Knowing I can just hide behind a wall and regenerate health kills it.
The game is also dark and gritty, with a pretty damn evil setting.
The weapons all have an upgrade system that progresses with the more people you kill. Incinerating slugs in the shotgun are badass.
Great enemies, bosses, set pieces, I love the battle cries the Chimera bellow after you kill them.
They're both great franchises, but if there's 1 thing I know all too well, haters gonna hate!

arkephonic
I think I enjoyed Crysis 2 more than R3 overall, which surprised the s*** out of me. Campaign-wise I think they're both on par, but I didn't care for R3's MP whereas I loved C2's. Strange considering R3 was one of my most anticipated games and C2 was barely even on my radar.

I always thought that argument was silly, too. While I've had pretty limited experience shooting rifles, I can say that they're not that outrageously heavy. They're so inconsistent,it's ridiculous.
R1 was okay.R2 was horrible.R3 was good.
KZ1 was horrible.KZ2 was boring.KZ3 was good.
I'll go with Resistance then.

With what a 7 paragraph response of drivel that will mostly be translated into "Hello I am Mastershake. I am criminally wrong about everything" I leave, and that poor man's champ(Darklink) becomes more entertaining than you. Sad sad little antBoth really good sci-fi exclusives and also very different games. Loved Killzone 2 and Resistance 3.
I heard bad things about the online multiplayer in both R3 and KZ3, so my whole GotY thing was solely based on the campaigns. I never tried either game out online. I think I've played through every single FPS game released this generation, but the only ones I've tried online are the Battlefield and Call of Duty games. I don't even give the online a chance in other games because I just assume it won't live up to Battlefield and Call of Duty.

I prefer Resistance. I didn't like Killzone 3 as much as 2, but I enjoyed all the Resistance games. 3 is by far the best one though and has one of the best FPS campaigns this gen.
