Resolution is the most overrated sects of graphics. If a developer can lower it to get in more detail, better doing that. The Playstation 4 version of the Witcher 3 wont look as good most likely.

So uh is 900p going to be godly if the PS4 is running it for Witcher 3 but it'll suck in any other instance of the Xbox One using it?

Well personally I enjoy using Kinect, and I really enjoy the games it offers. Definitely worth the cost to me.

@TwistedShade: good for you would you like a cookie now? It was no excuse last gen for inferior multiplats on the PS3 and hardly any games for a while and the xbone being priced higher for inferior multiplats is outrageous and many people are upset and I don't blame them

You can fix software but hardware blunders are forever.

I actually kind of feel bad for the lems.

I had a PS3 last gen but didn't even attempt to spin multiplat performance ratings. The simple truth was most games ran better on the 360.

The only people who appear upset are the sony fanboys who cry out and bash the Xbox One every chance they get. They spend more time lurking these forums then actually playing the PS4, but I couldn't blame them when the only games you can choose from are Killzone or Knack.

@bobbetybob: I agree.. is that big of a deal? There are aspects much more important in a game than resolution. I'm also willing to say that most people who do these resolution pissing contests can't even tell the difference.

Its amazing how so many Cows will tell you that your opinion doenst matter if you dont see things the way they do. I just don't care so long as the game is great. Watch Dogs for the One being 900p would be just fine by me. 720 for Witcher kinda sucks but I will wait to see how it performs. But for Watch Dogs thats a win.

My friend, I think you may be mistaken, I am a pc gamer. Consoles do not have the privilege of tweaking settings. I can assure you, lowering resolution for graphical enhancing mods is always a priority. 108p[ doesn't mean very much if you have shit textures, poor lighting and bad draw distance. The likelihood is, in order to achieve this on the Playstation 4's hardware, compromises will be made.

I still don't get the big issue with resolution. I don't think we need to be ripping on the X1 when most won't be able to see a difference of 180 resolution.

So Lems are on here justifying their purchases and saying they have so many amazing games to play, yet their on here also, goes both ways, MS had a good thing last gen and when the released that shit Kinect so they could rally some of Nintendo's audience, that's when I knew they where they were headed, you're going to tell me this gen people who spent 500$ on a machine with weaker gpu and multiplats because I can use Kinect and enjoy TV, sorry but MS missed the ball this year, no one should have paid 500$ for a wekaer machine had Xbox One been 399 and scrapped that god awful Kinect then I'd say you'd have cause and that would have been the smart move for Xbox this gen, but no way in hell can you argue 500$ for a weaker machine is worth it because "I can Kinect and watch TV"

That's really not how it's been working with multiplats. It's a case where the PS4 version can still have all the same features and detail but at a higher res and performance. They're not dropping the res on the X1 versions of the game as a design choice, it's because of difficulties with the hardware.

You'll likely see the exact same feature set or possibly some things missing on the X1 version if anything and that's before you factor in that the PS4 will be pushing the better resolution and i wouldn't be surprised if it held the framerate better too. It's already been seen in the other multiplats that are superior on the PS4.

Doesn't concern me , I'm building new PC next month for Witcher 3 and Star Citizen . It's been 5+ years since I upgraded my PC and it still runs almost everything fine , but it's time for upgrade .

I think the problem is if the Witcher 3 is 900p on the PS4 that would make it only the second game on the console to be sub 1080p. In the case of the Xbox one about 50% of its games are sup 1080p. When you pay $100 more for a console that is almost twice the size you would expect the rolls to be reversed.

It ain't bad when it's compared to the 720p XB1 version. So yeah it's perfectly fine. Lems seem to be all vitriolic lately claiming hypocrisy but ultimately missing the point. When there's comparison to be made with the PS4 always on top, it still puts Xb1 down onto the lower rung no matter if it's 1080p or not. Whenever PS4 is 900p, Xbone 720p, whenever Xbone is 900p, PS4 is 1080p, Whenever Ps4 is 1080p, XBone is 720p. The constant disparity is the whole point of the drama, not the fact that PS4 is consistently reaching 1080p more than the XB1.

True, I don't remember there being quite so many that were just about the resolution though. I don't mind when it's a Digital Foundry article or Lens of Truth (as it was back in the day) comparison, where you actually have the final game and can see the differences but whole threads dedicated to just "lol 720p vs 1080p" over and over and over again is getting old because there's really no discussion to be had.

When I game on PC I'll always go for a resolution bump over effects because the higher res looks that much better. Thing is these multiplats will have the same assets and effects meaning The PS4 version will shit on Xbone.
