It shows B@lls and confidence that they are making a great game... I don't see any other beloved developers doing this.  Hmm MGS4 (crickets) how 'bout metroid (crickets)

Crytek has been letting people play their game in pre-alpha for the past year. Yes, at public events. Where was Halo 3 at E3 06? Crysis has been at every games convention since E3. Not to mention they hosted a summit for the most die hard modders/fan site admins to play their game in Germany.

Not to mention Crytek has not once whined "but its teh alpha.....dont judge us!11" There's a huge beta for Crysis MP coming up in Summer too.

agreed. i wasn't that excited for halo3 outside of wanting to know what happens with the story but now atfer watching the vids today I can't wait. mad props to bungie, your forgiven for halo2 :)ninjaxams

I Do know it will sell, and like Madden, it's too big to flop, but I haven't been blown away by anything I saw. It really does look like it plays Just like HALO 2, with some new RESISTANCE stuff (Shield Grenades/Spike Grenades) but I'm down with that, and I have it reserved.

I wasn't bashing Crysis... I can't wait to own it on my 360.  I was referencing that Halo is more anticipated than Crysis and that is a bold fact.  I'm presenting the argument that Halo is not only anticipated to the extreme but they  have the guts to let people play it before its finished... 

finally a dev has the ballls to make a good game? How about a game like mario galaxy? That game was slated to be released already but its been delayed probably till christmas. Nintendo is taking the time to make the game great, even though it would probably be profitable in the short term to release it earlier. They've been doing that since forever and its always paid off. Yea if you say so. I think it'll still be fun but it's definitely nothing new or exciting. It seems like the same thing the cows have been praising in NGB going to NGS.... but even then, that is a more noticeable leap.

Still, if you liked halo last gen, I doubt you can really complain about a next gen Halo.;)

It doesn't have to be the best looking.  it only has to be "the best".

I'm impressed with the BETA. At that stage it should have some major hiccups, but the game looks like it is running smooth as silk and they still have at least 4 and a half months of polish and working on the game.eastside49er
