Revised GOTY Predictions

So Bioshock is a very good (if not spectacular) game marred by some technical issues and a lack of difficulty. That leaves few GOTY contenders this year, and i can only think of two that have they hype and the awesomeness to pull it off.

jeff nitpicked and made a bad review on purpose to get hits for the website... It's good for bussiness to give a game lower scores than everyone else. Bioshock is still GoTY imo.

and why the ... would galaxy be in the tops
yes it will sell so much, yes it will be fun, but i guess it will be just TOO easy and too short like all other mario games

I'm also hearing how mass effect gameplay is so innovative, when it is a text game with good graphics. I don't usually bash games that hard, but I find nothing appealing to mass effect.

But, seriously, I think BioShock still has a pretty good chance for GOTY. But, if it doesn't, I have no idea. All the games I'm excited about will probably be flopped by Gamespot, so I don't know...

I still think it's gonna be a toss up between Bioshock ang Mario Galaxy.

Game scores really have nothing to do with GOTY.

Bioshock or Mario Galaxy imo

looking at other notable games:

Crysis - I don't think there will be enough besides graphics to get this game the win

Rock Band - the price may prevent it from winning

Metroid Prime 3 - I think it will get the same thing as Twilight Princess of "gamecube game + wiimote control = great, but not GOTY great" from gamespot

Phantom Hourglass - might actually have a chance, but its still hard to imagine a handheld game winning

SSBB - gamespot has never given a SSB game AAA

Edit: Mass Effect has a decent chance at winning

Imagine if DNF was surprise released a few days before gamespot GOTY was announced, and started getting 10s everywhere, and Gamespot gave it a 10 and Game of the Year, beating BioShock, MP3, Halo 3, Crysis, and all those other GOTY hyped games.

Bioshock scored a little higher than I thought, but I don't think it's going to get GOTY. My guess is still Halo 3 (now that GTAIV is coming in 2008 ).

1.Crysis-No contest.......at all.

2.Uncharted-would be the best looking game to date if not for crysis.

3.God of War 2-makes last gen still look like a competitor

4.Ratchet and Clank-platformer with forty hours of gameplay?

5.Bioshock-Followup to one of the best games, ever.

6.Mass Effect-Everything about this game is stunning.

Halo 3 because 1. Gameplay, 2. Extras, 3. Story, 4. Graphics.

Being "easy" is a horrible excuse to deduct points. No one else seemed to have that big an issue with it.

Not everyone likes a difficulty that kicks them in the balls whenever they play. But that's a personal preference. I like to hear the story and shoot things. Puzzles are fine but I'd like to get to the end eventually. When I want a challenge, I'll play people online.

Bioshock still has a huge chance. So far no one has rated it below 9.0

I think Bioshock is gonna win it but now I am concerned because of the low rating, but Halo 3 has to be considered and alot of people dont even give it the time of day when it comes to GOTY.

i understand ps3 has no chance of getting any game up there but im thinking
