How are you comparing them, sales, critical success, prefrence, revenue, profit?thrones
Doesn't matter,Gears will dominate in every category.
both will sell.
RFOM i didnt mind i quite enjoyed the fact it was set in england, standard fps good weapons. a tad bland
Gears i didnt mind either thought single player was a bit rubbish, kept repeating its self a tad homoerotic and a tad bland, plus i dislike the people that play it (they seem to think the first game was the second comming)
either way WiiFit will sell more than both (maybe even combined)
Resistance 2 if it has cooperative play. If not, then even if I had a PS3, I still probably wouldn't get it.DeathScape666I think they said its going to have 8-player online co-op, with its whole own story. (As in you don't play the Single player story with 8 people.)

R2 will have 8 player co-op online, instant win!

Even preference. How!?:O
Cliffy B. mind control beams confirmed.
The general public will show their preference for Gears 2 over Resistance 2,just like they showed their preference for Gears over Resistance.

just like there is now theres more people with a 360 than a ps3 unfortunatly :( so i dont think its showing a prefrence there is just a bigger market

Hellz yeah! I might actually get a PS3 this holiday season, so this will be freaking awesome!
Is there offline co-op, too? Because my little brother likes playing Medal of Honor: Rising Sun with me because of the co-op and Star Wars: Battlefront 2. If it's offline, then this will become a dream come true for him!
I would already put it above Call of Duty 4, mostly because I prefer campaign more than multiplayer deathmatch stuff.

There was upto 4 player offline co-op in Resistance 1 I think, it might have been only been 2 player. But I would imagine Resistance 2 will have offline co-op.

Im willing to bet R2 holds its own against Gears 2 despite all the hype Gears 2 is getting. From what alot of game sites are saying about R2, is that they are bringing alot to the tabel this time around and they are very impressed with what they have seen so far. Lets wait for e3 to see more. I can almost bet R2 is going to be turning some heads at e3 since gears has been showing off alot already. I really want to see more of R2 but I am getting both games for sure.
From what I've seen, nothing has impressed me from Resistance 2. While Gears of War 2 will be a day one purchase. I'll definitely get Resistance 2, but getting it when it release is probably unlikely. Also I'll get it if my real friends gets it.

My fancy has been more than tickled now.
I prefered RFOM in Singleplayer but Gears of War in Online CO-OP.
I cant pick, both of them are fantastic games, Gears was much more cinematic and epic ( no pun intended ) but there was something about RFOM i liked, I think is because im from Manchester UK and i enjoyed blasting through the cathedral in a videogame.
I thought the resistance levels in the tunnels were pretty spooky too, especially with those chimera that run on the walls ect.
Im looking forward to both games, overall Gears is the better game, but im a huge FPS fan, and i thoroughly enjoyed Resistance.

Only 2 player CO-OP from what i recall, but 4 player splitscreen deathmatch.
The CO-OP felt a little tacked on in RFOM, just some random extra dude with no plot explanation what so ever.

Shouldn't be the case in this one, entire campaign for co-op centering around the exploits of a bunch of Sentinels.^_^

I always wondered who that guy was, he didn't look anything like the rest of the soldiers.
[QUOTE="Frexie"]Battle of the Rehashed FPS's? I'll skip both.
ReverseCycology
Ummm one is a third person shooter.
I would have figured a level 20 would have known that, but apparently not.[QUOTE="thrones"]How are you comparing them, sales, critical success, prefrence, revenue, profit?GabeNewellsPie

I'll give you graphics Gears was better. But Story content and SP length, Resistance won with no sweet. Revenue is one thing but we don't know WHO profited more.
