I use PSN every now and then. Played COD4 on it for a few days and then stopped. I enjoy the single played aspects of games alot more. Played Warhawk for a few months and that was great. Socom Confrontation will be my life for a few years just like Socom 2 was. Nothing beats Socom online IMO. I must admitt that I'm a blatant Socom fanboy.drufeous

I may be as big of a Socom fan as you are because when I get a PS3 game I finish the single player game and go back to one of the Socom games in single player mode, mostly anymore to find different ways of beating the game and try different things in the games.

i dont see how a person can use the whole "most ps3 owners use it as a blu-ray player only anyways" when alot of the br movies coming out are able to allow you to connect to the internet to unlock more content, infact the last firmware update for the ps3 allows you to do just that (even though there are no br moves out atm that can do it), so thats a really weak and ignorant comment from reys (or h/e you spell it) and reversecycology made, i just wanted to point that out

The last official number was 10.49 million as of 12/31/07. We don't have the data to speculate on sales, outside of 2 months for JP and NA which combined add up to less than 1 million units. If you have some data that I don't have access to (please, no vgchartz) feel free to show me. Until then, I think it's disingenuous to throw out "numbers" like "1/3" and "14 mil".

JFYI, NA is probably the easiest and cheapest place to get broadband. In some countries like AU it's almost impossible to get broadband outside of the major cities and if you can, it's going to be expensive. It should be noted that the Xbox 360's largest market is NA.

Just to drive this point home, let's take a look at the NA for PSN. There are ~3.5 million PS3's in NA (correct me if I'm wrong) and in February Sony noted there were 2.9 million PSN accounts for NA.

In addition, it was noted that currently in North America there are more than 2.9 million registered PlayStation Network accounts and more than 52M total downloads life-to-date from PlayStation Store.

Well. A Xbox Silver account is free. When MS say 10 million of whatever they probably count that aswell. I dont know if that is true. If they do then it is about the same. Half the number of owners of the system get online.

I have one desk top PC and two laptops plus the PS3 on a wireless network and have no problems. As for DSL being slow at one time it was but it has gotten much better the in past two or three years. Now the speeds are fairly fast and are very constant (meaning no fluctuation in speeds).
