It would make sense to let other companies localize the games.

Last I heard a few companies tried for Graces and Innocence. IIRC Bamco pretty much said no.

Do they have subtitles on the import because if so I would take that over a localized port anyday personally..Namco Bandai posts, then yanks 'Tales of' statement from official Facebook page
I dont hate them, they just piss me off.
I wish they would just say "Ok, we're never localizing another Tales game." so I can just import without clinging to hope that they will be localized.

So, I'm to assume that Wii owners aren't getting any love when it comes to Graces? Would be nice if we could also get it on the Wii over here.
As long as they fix the bugs and maybe add the PS3 content into the Wii version.
Honestly, I'm getting sick of the Wii getting screwed over by third party developers.
caryslan2
The Wii got a bug free version a few months after the originals launch.
Im pretty sure this wasnt Bamcos original plan. I think their recent financial struggle feuled the PS3 port.

While it does seem like Namco needs to localize more games, I'll say it again. Namco can't localize every Tales game. The fanbase is just too small for it to be financially feasible.
hakanakumono
The solution to that is to make less Tales games and grow the franchise with the less frequesnt installments. Also make the series multiplat.
Tales games are made for Japan. Maybe Japanese sales are enough to warrant the high game output, but the west isn't? Definitely on the multiplat though. What they're doing now is a scheme to get people to rebuy games in order to increase profits.
Oh i can believe so. I just think we are coming to an age where its best to make fewer games and grow popularity. as for their scheme now I get it, make the game on systems with lower software sales, snatch up those buyers, port to system with highest sftware sales (Japan). Its okay but honestly, they could be doing more. but Tales as a franchise needs to grow up a little.

My issue is that they played this game with both Vesperia and Graces. They released two games that were ported to the PS3 later on with additional content while ignoring the 360 and Wii fans who bought the original versions. They referred to 360 owners as "beta testers" and released a buggy game for the Wii that was so bad they had to recall it.
I don't have problem with either going to the PS3, but I would like to see the 360 and Wii get special editions that have the new content from the PS3 versions. Outside of better graphics, there is no reason for Wii owners to miss out on the new content. After putting up with a buggy game, I say Namco owes us.
good they deserve it, I stopped liking namco years ago when I realized they were releasing so many tales games that were pretty much the exact same game and then never localizing half of them.
I'm pretty sure SCE have some sort of rule about how late ports must have additional content. That's why it's there. My issue is that they played this game with both Verspia and Graces. They released two games that were later ported to the PS3 later on with addotinal content while ignoring the 360 and Wii fans who bought the original versions. There's pretty much no benefit to Bamco to use resources to put this extra content into the original games and re-release them on the original platform.
The additional sales wouldn't justify the cost probably.

Considering I didn't buy Graces or Vesperia they really don't. Honestly, its their loss, there are more than enough games that people could pick up over tales. If they don't want to give all fanbases a shot at extra content its their loss. Youtube the endings, its not like its that big a deal when you don't even have the original in a language 90% of people on this board can understand.
All Im gonna say is we wont be getting Vesperia PS3 or Graces at all.
The new PS3 title has a chance though.
I think ill vote the ps3 needs some more rpgs and after playing FF13 i want more as well. Namco needs to get it togetherbigboss5ak
Thanks for leaving a vote :). i really want this to reach at least 8000 so it can be on the top 10 at least

If it had subs in english i wouldnt be even posting this here and just import them all as i dont mind subs at all. sigh tales series is the only series that havent made it in english yet
i love namco to death, but theyre pretty oblivious...and unfortunately even 1000+ votes on PSN share blogs not gonna get us far...1000 votes isnt even a quarter of the population of a city more or less PS3 owners themselves...something big needs to happen to wake these devs up...i guess for now keep spreading the word...

Almost 1300 votes in almost 5 days is really good, just need to let everyone know about this and should be increasing in now time. spread the word :)

yea guess, i should start helping tho im not a console faves type of person its pretty obvious most video games i do own belong to PS3 only, so ill see what i can do, adding that ps3 blog voting link thingy to my sig shouldnt be a bad idea either :P[QUOTE="finalstar2007"]
Gotta say tho this is just absolutely really sad.. so far the votes are 1299 positive in 1343 total votes which means 44 people voted against it. i mean just vote positive and if it gets actually released dont buy it if you dont like it why ruin it? 44 is lots of votes.. some people are just f****d up tbh :x
haters gonna hate man! Cant stop them from that...but get enough willing people together to go for this and we're unstoppable...Your smarter solution instead of Sony's blog is to get straight to the devs themselves...why dont you try to get some information for contacting namco directly thru email or something and then we'll form some type of electronic petition no haters allowed and be serious about it; send it to these guys, they have their heads in the freaking asian market only :( ^ YeahThis is nothing new, this has been happening for years. We get one now and then but a lot remain unreleased. Also doesn't help that the Tales studio is $21 million USD in debt.

I also voted. And registered on the site. Even though I don't own a PS3 yet.. Just glad to help a fellow gamer! I know Tales' are supposed to be great jRPGs, which are rare unfortunately these days.Well, it's pretty clear why the Tales studio isn't profiting and might not be around for long. They bet on the wrong market.
Japan is sadly not big enough for console JRPGs anymore. They need the US and EA sales to be profitable this generation. This is why you have Squareenix, Level 5 and NIS focusing much more on worldwide projects instead of Japan exclusive games.
Companies that did worldwide localization earlier this gen is in a much better place as they are now a much bigger brand for people unknown of them before.
Namco, especially the Tales studio was sadly not on of them and are now suffering hard from it. There are tons of JRPG brands that has grown over the lifetime of the Nintendo DS and late PS2. Shin Megami Tensei, Etrian Odyssey, Dragon Quest (in US and EA), Disgaea (more like the entire NIS brand). Atlus have been really good with this this generation and are now a company with a much bigger presence because of it. Especially for a new younger market.
Namco could have been such a company if they localized their Tales games for the DS (which are really good according to importers and other reviews). If only to bring in some quick spare change that they really need right now.
Eternal Sonata and it's dev Tri-Crescendo (ironically published by Namco) have a larger fanbase today than Tales.
Tales as a franchise is dieing but it's not because their fans abandoned them or that Japanese devs might have lost some of their edge this generation. It's simply because they didn't think times would change and was stuck in place when the competition moved ahead and stole the new market in front of them.
Now it's probably too late but honestly I could care less. The new fresh JRPG brands have filled the hole that Tales will leave after itself ten times over already.
Say what you want about MS this gen, but their relentless push for the Japanese market has brought/confirmed alot of JRPGs for Western release. Games like Vesperia, Star Ocean etc. you knew they were releasing here because they were on the 360.
You also gotta give them credit for starting the whole worldwide release. They started it with the console itself and most games (JRPG) released shortly after the Japanese launch date, which is so much better than the usual 8 month wait. Im sure they were the main reason FF13 released so shortly after japan.
Anyway this wont do nothing. Expect none of these games to release here and if one does, it'll most likely be Vesperia. But look on the bright side, atleast you can import. Its what im going to do.

Whats a Namco.
Raymundo_Manuel
They made Soul Calibur, Galaga, and Pacman
Other than that they made what you may refer to as poo
play ace combat then come back saying that.Ace combat is their strongest franchise in terms of narrative and possibly lore yet it always under performs cause Namco barely advertise them or the runs of the game are pretty pisspoor and the game becomes rare lucky i own 4,5,0,X,2 and Joint assault when it comes out.
I have a question, is there a site where you can vote for the Wii version to come over here? I want to vote, but there's not much point in voting for the PS3 version since I don't have the system.
caryslan2
Sorry nope there is nothing for the Wii version in terms of voting system. if Wii owners really wanted one there would have been one by now with some votes but nothing unlike the PS3 version which as you can see someone did make a request on Sonys official blog ( Sony themselvs are asking PS owners to tell them what they want to see anything playstation related ) and as you see many people are pushing this have voted and are pushing it. maybe time to get a ps3 now :P. PS3 is known now for being the best HD console for JRPGs fans not to mention other games too. you wont regret it and besides sigh even lets say Namco end up dosent localizing anything there this one thing that remains which is importing. goodthing about PS3 is that its region free unlike the wii and 360. Vesperia already has a fan translation for about over 500 pages. the fans work hard on it. if nothing happens you can always wait a bit till someone translate the ps3 version and download it. i truly hope they do somthing i mean Namco seeing how many fans now are really into it and spaming Namcos FB page lol. the votes are closing too
I am pissed about the fact that they are making a Tales of Graces for PS3, but won't port it here for the Wii. Localizing is infinitely cheaper than souping that game up for an HD console.Saxsoon
I am pleased about the Graces ps3 port :D.. :P i know it sounds not fair to wii owners but hey if we support this wii owners can get a ps3 and enjoy the game with more content and also play other tales games.. now thats assuming their coming out -_-

Bamco knows where their fanbase is, on Sony consoles.
We arent getting the game at all though so just move on.
