RPG of the Year 2011 ??? Poll, Skyrim, The Witcher 2,Dark Souls......

Hi guys, having played quite a few RPG's this year, i want some opinions of what could be the RPG of the year on Gamespot. We have Skyrim, The Witcher 2, Deus Ex Human Revolution, Dark Souls, Zelda Skyward Sword and few others. If its not in the poll, please tell us. For me it would be The Witcher 2, its the definitive RPG that i have played in quite some time, 360 fans im glad you will get this game next year and hope you support it.

Edit: Removed the poll guys. Xenoblades was missing, and Zelda is not an RPG. Mods please close this down since there is another thread like this that i have missed.

Well not really. Its in a genre (action) I personally consider way below an RPG in quality. Though Zelda is an exception to this.

Dark souls, witcher 2 and skyrim are all fantastic.

i gotta go with the Witcher 2 though.

This. Skyrim stands above all those other RPG's & Zelda is not an RPG.

Its between skyrim or witcher 2, sorry dark souls. I havent played enough of skyrim to make a good judgement yet

Zelda is not an RPG and is not even out, so Dark Souls.

1) Zelda isnt a god damn RPG...

2) How could you leave out Xenoblade, which many reviewers have said to be the best JRPG...

Witcher2 and Skyrim are the best imo, cant pick between em yet.

No need to apologize for it. The sheep do have Xenoblade Chronicles... even if Nintendo of America chose to not release it in the US. The rest of the world has it though. Like, everyone but the Americans. :P

Played through dark souls, witcher two and making my way through skyrim. Dark souls for me isn't my kind of rpg but was a good game. Witcher 2 was awesome, skyrim is without doubt the best in my mind. Makes oblivion look like a retro game. And everyone who were saying bad things about it before it was out have all been proved wrong. Elder scrolls games used to be all about the adenturing and story. This game makes any kind of combat extremely enjoyable and is no were near as easy as oblivion was.

i think we've RPG fans have been extremely fortunate this year. No matter if you like jRPGs (Xenosaga) or MMORPGs (RIFTS and Old Republic), dungeon crawlers (Dark Souls), sandbox RPGs (Skyrim), FPS/RPG hybrids (Deus Ex), Diablo clones (Torchlight II) or RPGs that feel like Pen and paper session (Witcher 2). The only thing this year is missing is stand out tactical RPG.

It is an action adventure with RPG elements. The character progression is extremely limited because of the monster leveling with you system and being able to master everything. There is also pretty much no chocie and definately no consequence.

Don't get me wrong, it is probably my overall game of the year but I'm finding it really hard to call Skyrim an RPG when you compare it to everything else in the genre. If you compare it to Mass Effect 2 and Fable then sure I guess (both of which are good games for what they are).
