[QUOTE="trakem"][QUOTE="-GeordiLaForge-"]The Jasper motherboard did indeed fix the problem. Although, my launch 360 worked great until it was stolen last year.-GeordiLaForge-
I hear some 360 fans saying it was fixed, but I have never seen any evidence of it. Could you please tell me where this info is coming from or is it just a rumor?

ALL of the chips are smaller now, so they can't overheat. Look it up.

I have tried to find any reliable info backing up your claim. All I can find is just some people saying stuff on message boards.

I think no one but MS knows. I sure hope so, but I can imagine it's hard for people to trust MS anymore.

seriously? you can't provide your own proof on this matter? you're the one being contested therefore it is your responsibility to provide the proof. I may be a lemming to the core, but these posts are getting out of hand. You either back your claims, or you don't post....period

just like it should be hard for people to trust Sony after the flawed PS2 streak and absolutely horrendous customer support? :|

I thought this thread was about MS and RRoD? You make a good point tho. And people are still buying 360's. So I guess I should speak for myself then. It's hard for me to trust MS anymore, hardware wise. Just as it was with Sony and the PS2, which I sold thanks to the DRE's and other failures of the fat model.

Trusting any of them is kinda difficult, I must agree with that. Both Sony and Microsoft have a long history of bogus claims. If you want, I can start trying to make some lists but I think we all know they both lie like a dog. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a number from Microsoft. It would be better than completely unsubstantiated forum posts.

You still haven't backed up the real claim. The claim wasn't simply that they are using a smaller manufacturing process going to a 65nm manufacturing process. Certainly, that part is true and not under debate as far as I'm aware. The debate is over whether or not it actually fixed the RROD problem.

You think that 100% failure rate is fixed?

I've seen lots of numbers (all of them unsubstantiated) but all it takes is for one console to not be RRODed for the 100% number to be debunked. Mine hasn't RRODed yet so the 100% number has now been debunked.
