I have another room just for old-skool consoles with a modded original Xbox, Sega Saturn and Dreamcast (I miss Sega) too but I have to say that I envy you since you got to experience a gen that I didn't as I only started gaming since the PS1-gen *sad face*, 26 years gaming is amazing! I think you're like me in that gaming isn't just a phase...we will game until we go to the grave lol. Oh and your gamerscore is awesome, more than twice of mine (achievements are so addictive and it comes to a point when you think "why do I keep doing this" but you know you will always go achievement hunting again lol) so kudos to you man.

The 360 launched with a 3 month warranty. After a bunch of legal crap and bad publicity they extended it to 1 year. After a bunch more of both they extended it to 3 years, and slowly added various issues to be covered under that warranty.

Thats what I'm trying to do. I currently have my PS3 and 360 hooked up to my 55in LED on the wall in my living room, while I have my Dreamcast, Saturn,Turbo grafx 16, PS1, and Gamecube hooked up to the 55in LCD in my bedroom. I almost had the game room in motion, then my wife got a job from home, which she decided to turn it into a office!! So I lost that battle. I'm now trying to do something with the garage. I was also thinking that once I got this game room up and running, that it might be better to hook up the old school game systems to a tube tv, something like a Sony Triniton. It just seems to keep the retro feel I guess. That is a nice setup you got though!!godzillavskong

In my household we've had 3 xbox 360sconsoles die & in recent years we purchased 2 new consoles to replace the old dieing ones. It sucks but its true.

sales numbers aren't inflated. a sale is a sale.a userbase estimate based on sales would be, though.

If my 360 died I would buy a new one, if my PS3 died I'm not sure.

RROD sales reflect the love the customer base has for the system. No one is obliged to repurchase, but a willingness shows how happy people are with it. This goes for any system.

If people are willing to re-purchase despite hardware failures, then MS deserves the extra count. A unit sold is a unit sold. No on is forced to re-purchase.

It's not as if people didn't have a choice.

No one had a gun put to their head and was forced to buy another 360. Someone could've bought a PS3 instead (like I did after my 3 year warranty expired). But if they chose to buy another 360, I don't see how that "inflated" sales.
