Here it is. Of course the order is debateable as they always would be with a list like this. Still an interesting read. Thoughts?

That is the worst list I have ever seen. Thief influenced Splinter Cell, Battlefront was a Star Wars version of Battlefield, SOTC was more influential than God of War, and Modern Warfare 1 although good; it influenced future games to be generic Call of Duty clones.

IMO, this is just a list of the top 10 most popular games of the decade, nothing more.

I disagree with UC1 and chaos theory but the rest are pretty influential. Oh and "Games Inspired by Uncharted:Assassin's Creed" :? AC came out before UC1. Not to mention some of the other statements made on the games.

No, not an interesting read, as the author lost all credibility with this statement in WoW:

"and single-handedly keeping alive a dying platform for gaming"

This author knows absolutely zilch about PC gaming and the health of the platform.

its a pretty good list, but why on earth is the first uncharted on there? it says it influenced assassin's creed, but AC came out before it! what bologna.

Bah i still think Halo:CE and MP1 Should have been higher :P I mean Halo is pretty much responsible for the consoles FPS influx we have today and MP was just awesome. walkingdream

how is halo on the list but not wolfenstein? makes no sense. Goldeneye 007 is more deserving than halo anyways.

Disagree with RE4 being number 1. Anyway, glad to see Halo, WoW and GTA3.

They got RE4 right, that's for sure, but Halo probably should have been #2 considering it was the game that popularized the regenerating life thing every shooter now has. Uncharted definitely should not have been there, and the original Splinter Cell probably influenced more than Chaos Theory did (and even then, you can thank MGS for defining the stealth genre).

hmm, i dont see how re4 is so influential. i mean, how much games copied re4? maybe gears of war with the over the shoulder view but thats it.

well then how about return to castle wolfenstein, released in 2001? a game that was infinitely better than halo and most games today. great shooting mechanics, pretty scary at times, great fights and revolutionized team based multiplayer with enemy territory

It should also be noted that they mention that they haven't played every game and it's just a list of they games that they played and noticed influences from. Of course of the last ten years :D

Not to knock PC gaming as I have a $1400 rig myself, but I agree with what he said. Other than WoW I beleieve the PC is slowly dying as a gaming platform. The MMO is the last bastian of hope for the PC as a gaming outlet and once consoles figure out how to do MMOs right (which....they will) and WoW can be played on your Xbox, then it will be game, set, match for the clunky ol' desktop.

Crap list. First of, there is no way Halo influenced every single FPS. Secondly, Uncharted did not influence Assassin's Creed because Assassin's Creed came out first! Not to mention that the gameplay is totally different. And lastly, I wouldn't say GTA3 influenced RDR, cause it's the same developer...
