Rumor: GTA IV in New York

OMG OMG OMG - NEW YORK!!!!-  FANTASTIC.  First thing I do when I drive into Manhattan is stop somewhere and get me a slice then I carjack somebody and tear a$$ all the way to little Italy  and hold up Ferrara's and make off with a bag of connoli's

I think something international would be nice, some international city outside of US.ArisShadows

Dude this would be cool if they set it in Asia. Some kind of drug deal went bad and your stranded there and some guy takes you in and helps you out. You get to fight Yakuza and crazy modern Asian Pirates. And not to mention the colourful surroundings..

Another setting that would be cool is in the 70s. Somewhere in the US. You would meet Truth when he was younger. The character you play won't know who he is, but the gamer (you) would know who he is. It would be funny if truth was some bussiness man and you somehow made him into a crazy paranoid hippie. It would be cool to tie in some of the character's backgrounds. Just like that attorney you see in San Andreas that was also in Vice City.

Anyway, those are my ideas...what do you guys think of them?

that's strange...don't they usually give fictional names to their cities? I mean san fransisco was called san fiero, and los angeles was called los santos. seems strange they would use real names.

Well if anyone actually played GTA1.  You'd know that the cities in the game were Vice City, Liberty City, and San Andreas.  If you look at the map of LC you will see that its manhattan with a little bit of jersey and brooklyn. queens and the bronx.  So I guess if Rockstar wants to keep rehashing old places they'd use London again.

If we're hoping for a city ripe with crime in the US/NA, there's only one option: Detroit. All other ones are far inferior. But I hope it's a city outside of the US, and certainly not Tokyo (or a clone of it). I think Bangkok could be an interesting place, as well as Rio de Janeiro.Vampyronight
