Rumor: Modern Warfare 3 Out 11/11/11

I keep my ear pressed to the internet at all times (I get killer neck cramps) and have been hearing whispers of a possible release date for Modern Warfare 3. It will apparently be out before Christmas. No doubt Activision will continue its trend of disrespecting the millions lost in World War 1 by releasing the title near remembrance day (11/11/11).

It appears that Infinity Ward are developing Modern Warfare 3 despite losing a lot of key staff. The company's founders -Jason West and Vince Zampella, left due to a dispute with Activision over 36 million USD in royalties. They took a large portion of their staff with them. Because of this, Infinity Ward are seeking outside help to aid in developing the game. Apparently Sledgehammer Games will be aiding them in the development of the single player campaign, and Raven Software will be helping with the multiplayer.

It seems that Call of Duty is well on its way to becoming the Madden of shooters. Can we really get too much of a good thing? I think so.

I've been getting tired of Black Ops lately. So, I would not mind another great CoD game. I hope its out in November.

That might be because nearly all the CODs are very similar? If you find Black Ops boring then I'd recommend a new series, not another COD game.

Uncharted 3 all the way, enough with the milkage. I'm proud to say I haven't bought a CoD game since CoD4 - great as it was, WaW was obviously a cash-in, and my rental of MW2 confirmed to me that it was indeed a horrible, horrible franchise that needs to burn in hell along with it's publisher.

Black Ops was the last COD game for me, UNLESS COD:MW3 has zombies. But UC3 and Skyrim gets my money this fall.

Its a great series. madden comes out every year and no one complains about that. i think everyone takes COD too seriously. if COD only sold like a million copies and had no online community like killzone or some crap, no one would complain. but because its popular, its gotta be hated?

Speak for yourself,calling Uncharted milkage and comparing COD(action game) to Madden(Sports) is all full of fail. Why dont you just go work for Activision and advise them to name its COD 2011,and the next one COD2012

yeah I wont be buying it after MW2 I made a pact never to buy another activision game and I will keep that up I won't be getting MW3 much like I didn't get BO...All my friends got BO and I told them to ************ that I wouldn't be buying it.

why is comparing madden to COD full of fail? they come out every year and change basically nothing. it doesnt matter if one is action and the other is sports. they change nothing. ok, calling 3 Uncharted games is not milkage i guess, so i will use something else. how about mario???? point is, COD doesnt deserve the hate, its a good series and most importantly, its fun. i will admit MW2 sucked, but Black Ops is good and no one has played MW3 so no one can judge it.

Because it's a completely rehashed game, with the same basic formula, that does almost absolutely nothing new, which has ben using the same engine and mechanics for years now, with a pitiful 5-6 hours mediocre campain with 0 difficulty(even on Veteran) and average MP portion with many issues.

And ofc. their wonderful 'reputation'.

Let's take a look at Activision's history:

• Tony Hawk: They found a good franchise, they started milking it. They killed it.

• Guitar Hero: They found a good franchise, they started milking it. They killed it.

And now? They found a good franchise, and are milking it excessively. There is no excuse for such a patheticaly rehashed, milked to death series that does absolutely nothing new, and thanks to it's fanboys that are buying it like blind sheep instead of marching to Activision to debate what on Earth they are doing, will die out and recieve bad reputation, like the other two. Oh wait, it already has a horribly bad reputation. Guess what will happen soon?

Zero interest - the only shooters on my radar as must buy this year are Gears 3 and RAGE if it makes it in 2011.

so let me get this straight. you dont like activision and COD because they release one every year? So you think they should release one every 5 years and have it be an epic flop like GT5? Im all for it, i like the series, and i dont mind a new one every year. they are fun. people take it too seriously. the only thing i dont agree with is activision charging 15 bucks for maps packs (which i dont buy).

I dont mind the call of duty games, I can take them or leave them but why the extra £5 charge for them? If you take COD2, MW & MW2 (IW developed) they are no more milked than Uncharted on the PS3 or Halo on 360 and have came around with the same time frame between each game. Thats my gripe with Activison, nothing offered is worth the £5 premium over say BC2.
