RUMOR: Nintendo preparing unified online infrastructure called Nintendo Network?

Twitter user Joshua_X has recently tweeted the box art for upcoming 3DS title, TheatRythym. The box art clearly shows a Nintendo Network logo in the top corner. I would presume this is a unified structure using an account system which would spread accross to the new Wii U. There Is a Nintendo Investor conference commencing next week, hopefully we may hear some news then.

EDIT:Apparently the back says it supports Nintendo Network, and offers paid DLC.

The Wii U, when still unanounced was called project cafe. :P

If all the rumors about WiiU are true (1080p graphics at steady 60FPS, Full 3rd Party Support, Nintendo Network, etc) then i know i will only need 1 console next gen.

We aren't going for the reign of terror here. We're normal users like everyone here who just have an extra ability to take care of abuse. That's all, there's nothing more.

I went through all the periods that every other user goes through, and if I haven't been through it yet, I will someday.

This is... strange. I mean, whatever Network, Live, or Online, I don't care what it's called. If it means Nintendo finally gets to allow us a single unified account to call on our saved downloads and not tie them to a system, I'm down. NN doesn't seem to be a good Acronym, if it was online, we could be NO :Pyoshi_64

If it is finalized as Nintendo Network, I would rather the acronym be NTN. NN just leaves you with a shortness of breath imo, whereas NTN seems more rounded, and rolls of the tongue.

doesn't need to be "exploding", but something that sounds good lol. Xbox Live sounds really good and we already got a "Network". Something different would of been nice.

Nah. An account system seems more likely seeing as Nintendo already has a unified Friend Code system for the 3DS, and this boxart is for the 3DS.

Nintendo Network is much better than MiiWorld. There are just too many services out there. With 'Nintendo Network' it is very clear what it is and what it does. MiiWorld kind of makes sense but it could also refer to other things. Clarity > Style and no matter how interesting a name is it will become generic sounding over time

3 in 2 different topics 0_0 before this topic i had only ever seen 1 mod post in any topic and that was only after nearly 500 posts in that topic.
