We already know that NX is delayed until March 2017, and that they do not want to show it earlier for the concern of being copied.

I can see Nintendo just not having a full direct this year.

Because as they said, NX will get first few years Wii U games, they just port Wii U games to NX and sell same games with new NX console. They don't want to show same games we played on Wii U second time on E3.

Yeah they showing Zelda because Zelda and Wii U games will be only remake games that will be on NX in 2017

In a way it kind of is. They're atleast being upfront about ahead of time to give people a chance to deflate their hype...

While this isn't going to be a doom&gloom for Nintendo or the NX, it's still a baffling decision. It's not like they don't have stuff that they couldn't have shown off. Kimishima or whatever his name was I recall said there were games planned for the 3DS. Why not show some of that? What about Paper Mario: Color Splash? I'm not exactly excited about the game based on the little we know so far, but maybe some more details on the game would get me interested in it (or maybe it would just further disinterest me if it looked like it was largely just going to be sticker star 2 in almost every way.) Pokemon Sun and Moon? How about an indie game reel? Amiibo news? They did just recently announce squid sister amiibos (and I'm still waiting on those Cloud and Bayonetta amiibo...)

Hell even if the NX hardware wasn't ready to be revealed yet, they couldn't atleast talk about software? or if even that wasn't fully ready, no teasers?

Well, whatever. It's a good thing I'm a huge Zelda nerd and am very excited for the new Zelda game or else Nintendo's E3 would be absolutely nothing for me this year.

Nintendo fans are going to cream themselves from Zelda's gameplay. If Nintendo is that sure of their game then that can be taken as a good sign. Versus the crap they should last year.

I know it didn't get the best reviews in the world, but if you're a fan of Yoshi's Island, I would give Wooly World a shot, it's pretty challenging if you are trying to go for 100% completion. You just have to get past it's cutesy look, which can at times be charming, but at others be nausea inducing.

I never found anything about Woolly World to be nausea inducing. But yeah, Woolly World was damn good.

If you want Yoshi and nausea inducing, look at Yoshi's New Island.

Yeah I thought E3 was making a comeback but with the internet and E3's prices it's a tough sell. They've been scaling down their E3 presence for some time now, and found workarounds to get their coverage.
I love E3 so I hope it will do well but at the same time I can see why Nintendo would be pulling out.

honestly no it's not because while last year was lackluster they still showed off games like Tokyo Mirrage Sessions and Xenoblade.

If this console is really releasing in March 2017 then they need to get the hype train going like this month. Revealing it late summer/early fall is going to backfire after both the PS4 Neo and XB1.5 get announced at E3. NX last Nintendo console confirmed.

Any company, releasing new tech into the industry would be concerned about aspects of their device being copied and released before they have the opportunity to do so. Nintendo is well aware that Sony and Microsoft are looking to introduce upgraded tech. It makes perfect sense that if we're still far from launch (March 2017) that Nintendo not unveil it yet.

Indeed, that Muppet version of the digital event was a total disaster. I understand that Iwata couldn't be there due to being at death's door at the time, but it was extremely childish and had so many underwhelming games to show off.

That doesn't make sense. Like I said in another thread, what a 6 month difference make? Then it's even more weird when you said Nintendo will get Wii U games.

Nintendo to me is viewed as a great console for kids, with great games for kids.

Not every parent lets 9 year olds wants their kids playing GTA5 & COD. It annoys when I come across kids in these kind of games.

Hard core gamers, not the target family fun is what they want. There will always be an audience for them. They will be fine.

They're certainly letting it all ride on Zelda. It better be damn good.

Mario has been more recognizable than Mickey for about 30+ years.

I actually don't know about today though. But Mario definitely dominated the late 80s and 90s.

At least we still have the Ubisoft's conference for our cringe needs. Still, tho having ubi and Nintendo to facepalm for couple of hours was great.

His TV show and that 1993 movie could be considered irrelevant as his games during the 80s and 90s cemented his popularity.

Mickey himself was overshadowed by his own sqaud of great Disney 80/90's movies such as Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Toy Story, Lion King Beauty and Beast etc.
