Rumor: PlayStation State of Play in February

Sony's nextState of Playlivestream will take place next month in February, the leaker who just correctly suggested the Nintendo Switch 2 will be announced today has hinted. Responding to a user onTwitterasking about the next possible State of Play showcase,NateDrakeresponded: "How's February sound?"

A State of Play taking place in February wouldn't be anything unusual from Sony, as the company has hosted the event in that month for the past four years, either through general presentations or ones focused on a single game. The likes of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach and Ghost of Yotei could be headliners for a potential upcoming State of Play since both are slated to arrive in 2025.

As for the claim itself, NateDrake has proven over the months to be a reliable member of the industry, with their most famous suggestion today coming true of a Nintendo Switch 2 reveal. Recently, they've also said Halo: The Master Chief Collection is coming to PS5 this year. As always, a State of Play fits smaller announcements around its biggest reveals, generally accumulating in anywhere between 15 and 20 pieces of news.

I heard SONY just cancelled a God of War live service game, so I'm hoping that's wrong....would explain what Bluepoint and Bend were doing though... uggh

@Pedro: Sadly customers regularly have to imagine what gamplay would look like as we watch 10 minute CGI dribble from these "AAA" publishers.

Long for the day's of trailers ending with 'play the demo', but they're very rare.. almost myths in 2025.. Largely reserved for Indie developers.

Monster Hunter Wilds is the only one I know having this in 2025.

Then again to offer a demo the publisher has to be confident in the products quality. & Sony was confident in Concord so the quality control for PlayStation Studios is questionable. Heck Sony had little faith in Astro Bot...

Honestly to have me impressed all they'd have to do is port a top quality game that can't be played on current hardware. Like MotorStorm: Pacific Rift.

Slap that hitter on PS4/ PS5/ P.C. and watch the money flow in.

I hope both Xboxs rumor of a Oblivion Remake and this is true. We already know Switch 2 will have a new Mario Kart which is awesome!
