I have a feeling both companies are putting off announcing a release date so that they can try and release before the other. Even if by a short time only. Both will be out in time for the COD release though Id say.

If Sony announces an October release date for PS4, Microsoft would be nuked. It would be huge, they should really aim to release it sooner.

I just want them to announce more games. As amazing as most PS4 exclusives look, there still isnt one that makes thinking of buying a PS4 at release date

The PS4 is actually really much like the PS3 slim in size, IGN had it at their studios

Sony won the pre E3 event (dat X1 reveal will be remembered forever for all the wrong reasons), E3 was close for both but Sony had KH3 & FF15, so it won there too!

Sony only needs to win GamesCom to win all events, since TGS they win by default (with the pre-TGS event focusing on PS4, TGS will be about handhelds, Japanese gamers care more for handhelds than home consoles).

PS2 was released in October, PS1 in September (in the Americas).

It wouldn't be unusual for Sony to launch them before November (typical launch month for consoles).

In my opinion though Sony should delay the PS4 so it can actually get some games first. Their launch is the weakest in history next to the PS3.

There is a chance that more launch day and launch windows games will be announced at Gamescom, pre-TGS event, TGS and VGA.
