@ten_pints: it did - this would seem like a sketchy choice if true. Unless they are porting it to an engine they have working well on Switch
It's gonna be so funny when Playground Games, hits the E3 stage this year revealing not a new Fable, like most are thinking but instead, Scalebound. lolol
PG will show lowly pg how it's supposed to be done. :P
It wouldn't surprise me but I want a fable for what they want scalebound to be it might be too much for the original Xbox hardware.
I thought it got cancelled because it was bad tho.
Seems like MS was making some demands, and when they didn't get their way they undermined/sabotaged this game. Though yeah, because of all that it pretty much looked like a mess. Maybe something "salvageable", but what they had looked like a mess. Seems to me like they'd have to just about start over on it to deliver a quality game (esp on an entirely different and much lower powered platform). Not sure the point of that, though I remember when this game was announced it looked cool. The problem was the original announcement was just fake PR, when we saw the actual gameplay on Xbox One it was pretty cringeworthy.
It struggled to run on the Xbox One, what makes you think they will be more capable on the Switch?
Maybe downscaling and simplifying it will make it better.
No way microsoft lets this happen
Dude, when another guy gets with your ex, it's cause you let her go bro.
Can't get mad.

lmao I hope this is real, though. Scalebound looked cool and was just what the Xbox needed. Too bad they dropped the ball by trying to turn everything into damn near a mobile gatcha game smh

What would be really amazing is if the game comes out, it's fantastic, and becomes a beloved switch exclusive.
Oh man, that would be hilarious.

Don't doubt Nintendo. I wouldn't bet against them lol
How would it run on a switch they would have to downgrade and take a hit on performance for it to be even playable.

Heck, the downgrade might force them to focus and make a better game.
Doesn't matter to me, I am playing all these good games on the X which is the best platform to play them on. The switch would light on fire trying to run Scalebound.

If it was using the same Xbox One engine, sure. But it's proven that Switch can run current gen games, just that it needs to be scaled down. If this rumor's true, Scalebound will surely be scaled down so that the Switch can run it. As someone earlier said, a scaled down Scalebound running on Switch is better than no Scalebound on Xbox One.
Microsoft still owns IP
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/legal/intellectualproperty/trademarks/en-us.aspx
Also, you guys need to research the IP and Trademark laws before posting.
In the US (and UK), "abandoning" an IP is simply not renewing it for a period of time, intentionally or not.
In such case, it does not automatically become free for anyone to claim. The original owner still owns the rights to the product or service.
For someone to claim an "abandoned" IP or TM, they would have to file all of the necessary paperwork and prove in court that the original owner.............either incapacitated or they down show up in court...................has no intent to continue with said product.
There hasnt been nearly enough time passed for ANYONE to even begin to try to claim it.

I hope SOMEONE revives it, but it wont be how the rumors have said.
Wouldn't surprise me Platinum worked on some kind of deal with Nintendo for a multi-game contract. And they should already be working hard Bayonetta 3. I hope also they make a sequel to Wonderful 101.
I wouldn't call Scalebound ambitious, they began making it in 2013 but it appeared to take a back seat to other games they were developing, including a few Activision shovelware titles that were beneath them IMO. Those duds could probably ignored but bombing on Star Fox while also taking over Nier Automata at the benefit of their chief competitor, I think at that point there was no good reason for MS to continue backing a game that had seen no progress under its years in development. Still, I am sure if or when they get around to making it that it could turn into an ambitious project. We'll see. For me at least, I hope they prioritize Bayonetta 3 next, with a follow up for Switch for a Wonderful 101 sequel.
The game rising from the dead is surprising but if true and ends up being a collaboration between Nintendo and Microsoft it's kind of mindblowing.
