Yes, the GoldenEye 007 we've all been waiting for. Hopefully they don't replace Pierce Brosnan with Daniel Craig. That would be a horrible idea. Now we can have true GoldenEye multiplayer. :)

Rumored GoldenEye 360/PS3 Port Screenshots Leaked

Check out these screens from what may be GoldenEye Reloaded for Xbox 360 and PS3.

GoldenEye Reloaded

Screenshots of what is allegedly an HD remake ofGoldenEye 007for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 appear to have been leaked.

Activision is set to announce a new James Bond game this week at Comic-Con. It's rumored to be something called GoldenEye Reloaded -- domain names for various versions of that name (with and without the added "007") wereregisteredlast month, sparking speculation of an HD remake of last year'sWii game, which itself is a remake of the ****c N64 shooter.

Screenshots showing an improved -- if not particularly beautiful -- version of GoldenEye have found their way online today, including ontoNeoGAF. Additionally, an Amazon France listing showed GoldenEye Reloaded as coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 28 before it was pulled. The listing likely wasn't meant to go up yet, but it does indicate this will be a disc-based release, not an Xbox Live Arcade/PlayStation Network game.

GoldenEye Reloaded

Last year's remake of GoldenEye added online multiplayer, improved graphics, new multiplayer modes, and replaced Pierce Brosnan with current Bond actor Daniel Craig. The N64 version's multiplayer was its biggest draw; Wii isn't known for its strong online capabilities, an area of the game that should be much improved on 360 and PS3.

An Xbox Live Arcade version of GoldenEye was in the works before itstalled. Rare, developer of the original, cast doubtupon the possibility of an XBLA or Wii port, although we obviously ended up with the revamped Wii version last year.

We've contacted Activision to get the official word on Reloaded. Even if it declines to comment, as is likely, don't expect to wait long before finding out more -- Activision is hosting a Comic-Con preview event in San Diego tomorrow. The company has alreadyconfirmedit's a GoldenEye-related game, so it's all but assured that Reloaded will be made official in less than a day.

So this would be an upgraded port of the Wii remake? Not bad. Though...there isn't a big of a difference as I would expect.

I'd say it's the Wii's best shooter. The SP was pretty fun and the MP is, for the most part, similar to CoD sadly but some people enjoy that. It was an absolute MUST to play with the Wiimote though because controller definitely felt very out of place in this game. Just didn't fit.

Even with motion controls, it still didn't work all that well. The only problem with the controlers for the Wii version was that the Classic controler is terrible for shooters due to terrible triggers, and that the Gamecube controller used the C analog to aim and had weird keymapping.

This game with Duelshock/360 controller will probably be a much better experience than any option suited for the Wii.

No, it worked wonderfully. Besides Tcon, this game is the only Wii shooter to really nail down the controls. Sorry, but there's nothing wrong with the CC Pro. It is not terrible for shooters and the buttons (FFS they are not triggers, neither are the PS3 or 360. They're called pressure-sensitive buttons.) The GC had odd mapping because of the lack of buttons.

The single player campaign has a lot of old school mechanics like non-linear map (to some extent), ability to go completely stealth in many occasions (and works well), multiple optional objectives, difficulty setting that gives more optional objectives and even giving classic healthpack+armour mode, but with modernized controls and cinematic events. This isn't a Call of Duty clone in single players, if that's what you are asking.

For the Wii, the controls were pretty good. As a shooter in general, they were pretty bad. And yes, the CCPro is pretty terrible for shooters. Wether you want to call them "Pressure-Sensitive Buttons" or "Triggers" they are still 500x better than what the CCPro offered.

Also, lack of buttons on the GC controller isn't an excuse for the game playing poorly on it. Bad is bad.

Controllers are terrible for shooters in any shape or form. They will never match a KB/M and everything else is preference. How is it terrible? Because you have to press a different button instead of pushing down on the left analog stick? :| It has just as many buttons as 360/PS3 controllers, so how could it possibly be bad unless you're just a blind fanboy who can't accept Nintendo anything?

KB/M >> Wiimote/move >>>> Controllers. That's a fact.

The Wii Goldeneye game was good and the four player split screen was good fun. Shame the online wasn't nearly as good and just felt like Call of Duty with a golden gun mode. Hopefully they've changed things a bit and we will be allowed to play the split screen mode online now. Day 1 if we can.

I'll agree with your opinion that KB/M is better for shooters than all, but motion controllers better than gaming controllers? Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. When you have to throw off your aim completely by looking at the side of the screen just to turn around, something is very wrong.

Btw, I never once said Nintnedo had anything to do with this. Being a little defensive, are we?

Yes yes yes. The aim is by far, better with motion controllers. That's how you turn...whats the big deal? I've never had any problems turning around and aiming with it. It's much more efficient than controllers because it isn't as limited.

Defensive? Not at all. But to say the CC Pro is bad for shooters when it's the exact same thing as other controllers (minus thumb stick buttons) is pure fanboyism.

It's not about having trouble turning, it's the fact that you HAVE to aim your crosshairs on the corners of the screen to turn. We are arguing opinions here, but in a game genre that revolves around shooting a gun, you'd think that you'ld be able to keep a steady fix on your target while being able to turn at the same time.

And saying that I hate CCpro for shooters is fanboyish how, exactly? If a normal controller has everything the CCPro has but more, how is it not the better choice, exactly? The only fanboyish person here seems to be you, since you apparently find the need to defend Nintendo in a conversation where they specifically aren't being attacked.

Yeah sure, the Wii is weak, what else is new, bla, bla, bla, the point is that now that is coming to their console, suddenly the Remake is the best idea this gen  yes, people have standards and in SW, double standards.

It makes sense for some people to be mildly excited for a game they didn't have access to until this was announced.

I was thinking about getting the Wii version, but now I'll probably wait and see how this one turns out.

So? when it was on Wii, it was nothing else than a shameless cash-in filled whit Nostalgia, but now it looks AWESOME!!!

madsnakehhh

Its still a shameless cash-in filled with nostalgia but now it looks good :o

And by SW standards that's the only thing that matters

Not when games like Resident Evil 5 and Dragon Age 2 look light years ahead of their predecessors yet still get dragged through the mud. Which aren't even Wii ports.

RE5 was a great action game. I bet if it was Resident Evil themed, it would've been more accepted. Dragon Age 2 was just a bad game in general that was terrible in about every aspect.

It's very weird. I remember Goldeneye Wii being accepted here with some very low hate (Not mild or high hate, and not absolute praise. I remember healthy discussions about the differences.) and it's really weird how everyone is saying it's crap now. :|

I don't remember anyone saying its crap (I won't doubt it outright), I do remember a lot of people saying it looks like crap.

It doesn't even look like crap. For a Wii game it's mighty impressive, and it even manages to outdo launch 360/PS3 games (IMHO.)

Already have the game though. Good for you 360 and PS3 only users.

Nah, it looks like crap. But then again any game that doesn't go for stylized graphics looks bad on wii.

Doesn't look THAT good for a Wii game ported to HD.
