Yes, the GoldenEye 007 we've all been waiting for. Hopefully they don't replace Pierce Brosnan with Daniel Craig. That would be a horrible idea. Now we can have true GoldenEye multiplayer. :)
Rumored GoldenEye 360/PS3 Port Screenshots Leaked
Check out these screens from what may be GoldenEye Reloaded for Xbox 360 and PS3.
Screenshots of what is allegedly an HD remake ofGoldenEye 007for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 appear to have been leaked.
Activision is set to announce a new James Bond game this week at Comic-Con. It's rumored to be something called GoldenEye Reloaded -- domain names for various versions of that name (with and without the added "007") wereregisteredlast month, sparking speculation of an HD remake of last year'sWii game, which itself is a remake of the ****c N64 shooter.
Screenshots showing an improved -- if not particularly beautiful -- version of GoldenEye have found their way online today, including ontoNeoGAF. Additionally, an Amazon France listing showed GoldenEye Reloaded as coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on October 28 before it was pulled. The listing likely wasn't meant to go up yet, but it does indicate this will be a disc-based release, not an Xbox Live Arcade/PlayStation Network game.
Last year's remake of GoldenEye added online multiplayer, improved graphics, new multiplayer modes, and replaced Pierce Brosnan with current Bond actor Daniel Craig. The N64 version's multiplayer was its biggest draw; Wii isn't known for its strong online capabilities, an area of the game that should be much improved on 360 and PS3.
An Xbox Live Arcade version of GoldenEye was in the works before itstalled. Rare, developer of the original, cast doubtupon the possibility of an XBLA or Wii port, although we obviously ended up with the revamped Wii version last year.
We've contacted Activision to get the official word on Reloaded. Even if it declines to comment, as is likely, don't expect to wait long before finding out more -- Activision is hosting a Comic-Con preview event in San Diego tomorrow. The company has alreadyconfirmedit's a GoldenEye-related game, so it's all but assured that Reloaded will be made official in less than a day.
