I don't remember anyone saying its crap (I won't doubt it outright), I do remember a lot of people saying it looks like crap.

It doesn't even look like crap. For a Wii game it's mighty impressive, and it even manages to outdo launch 360/PS3 games (IMHO.)
Nah, it looks like crap. But then again any game that doesn't go for stylized graphics looks bad on wii. I actually said myself at the time it looks good for a Wii game with a realistic visual style, but it still looks crap. With this, it looks like all the major AA+ mature games on the Wii (No More Heroes, Goldeneye 007, Dead Space Extraction, House of the Dead Overkill) have made the jump to the HD consoles.

Really I thought it looked pretty mediocore, what I played of it was fun though which is all I really care about tbh.

I won't, because this doesn't look all that different than this, and this doesn't look all that different than this. Besides resolution of course. I really think Goldeneye 007 is pretty impressive for Wii-tech.

yeah lets just ignore the normal mapping, specular maps etc & call it a day.

Crysis 2 is more advanced than Crysis 1
Yet Crysis 1 still wins in it's visuals. So it has better tech, that doesn't make it automatically better.

way to twist things around. There is an obvious difference between the capabilities of the hardware in which both games are running on. On a side note Crysis 2 is significantly smaller, and was originally missing numerous effects present in Crysis 1(POM, water, Crysis 2 uses cell streaming etc). Only thing Crysis 2 has on Crysis 1 is GI which is kinda shoddy to begin with.
