Rumors: Horrizon zero dawn coming to PC in 2020

To everyone who was moaning when at the beginning of the year I said that Death Stranding will come to PC – I suggest taking chill pills and screaming that I’m crazy like you did at the beginning of the year. Because Horizon Zero Dawn will be available on PC on February next year. Hopefully you guys are alive, the announcement will be soon.

I’m talking to different developers who are making something for the PlayStation 5, and they said to me that Sony warns them “keep the PC version in mind.”

Hmm.. I don't know about that one. It's a first party game. Death Stranding was never first party so there was always a possibility it would go multiplat. But maybe it will come to PS Now which would allow PC gamers to play it.

I remember this little foreshadowing on Steam: The Making of Horizon Zero Dawn but then again, Valve sure don't give a damn about what is added to Steam these days. Horizon: Zero Dawn is still my all time favorite PS4, tons of fun, but man, the graphics would be so good on PC with 60fps. I'll keep my expectations low until Guerrilla Games or Sony says otherwise.

I was going to do my 4th play in January 2020 but I'll wait and see how this plays out.

I picked up a digital copy of the Complete edition for $9.99 during Black Friday sales. I still haven't played Frozen Wilds. The one major thing I didn't like about the original was the human a.i. They were dumb as hell lol.

I don't believe it I want to though. I was just literally saying how much I want this game on PC on the forums the other day because I'm replaying it now and all I can think about is how much better this game would feel with M/KB.

@SolidGame_basic: Frozen Wild was really enjoyable for me that is, but it's a challenge due to new robots you gotta fight but other then that, I like it. You need to get on that Expansion Pack asap!

That would be rad. Very skeptical though. But oh man I hate shooting with controllers. I doubt I'd re-buy and replay, but PC would allow the great game to shine more

I loved the game on Ps4 and would definitely replay on PC.

But this rumor will turn out false. Guerilla is one of Sony's flagship studios, what reason would they have to port their games to PC?

Oh this would be awesome. I absolutely loved Horizon and playing in ultrawide would be gorgeous.

I want to play resistance 3 on PC. infact resistance is only sony franchise i always wanted on PC.

I have it on PS4, but lost interest after about 15 hours of gameplay. What @R4gnar0k said, this probably won't turn out to be true.

Would be cool. HZD runs better than most PS4 exclusives. Still I'd like to play it with a smooth frame rate.

Also worth noting that towards the mid-end game it was the story that kept me going, not necessarily the game play.

As much as it would be great to get all my favorite games on the PC, I seriously, SERIOUSLY doubt this is happening. The closest it gets will probably be PSNow.

Well, if it stops selling a bunch on PS4, then money would be a big reason. Lol Honestly, I'm not sure why they wouldn't port it over to PC at the end of the console's life.

First time ever I would pay full price for a game if true.

It drops to 29FPS on rare occasions. Unfortunately 30 FPS is shit, but that is still how a game should run on a console.

Not sure PC gamers even want it. It's another one of those titles that is only popular because it's exclusive. If it weren't exclusive, it would have sold just as well as Enslaved did on the Ps3 ... which was pretty much the same game, just a gen earlier :P

it is quite similar in structure to ubi games. big difference is it isn't a game by numbers. it's got very few of the lazy quantity over quality hallmarks of ubi's games. each facet has generally been well considered, polished and given a lot of love. it's a game that feels like it's had a clear artistic vision, not designed by committee that results in those soulless open world turds ubisoft keep squeezing out. plus, it's gawjus. and has robo dinosaurs to boot

It will be coming to PC through PS NOW. I'm not sure why this is difficult for people to understand. Sony doesn't own Kojima productions, they don't own the death stranding IP and they are not publishing it on PC. That's different then Horizon where they own GG and the IP.

And how exactly does Sony owning the IP make it impossible to launch on PC? Sony also owns Planetside and that was a PC exclusive for a long time. It also fits the news that Sony and MS start to get along, like them partnering up for CLoud gaming or AI.

can't say the game did much for me. once of those open world 'play for 10-15 hours then get bored' type of experiences

@ArchoNils2: Because Sony isn't investing in PC. Releasing their exclusives on the PC makes the PS brand irrelevant. Also Sony sold the company that owned planetside shortly after they sold their Vaio PC brand.

Yeah. I remember some noticeable drops here and there, but for the most part it was one of the better-performing games on a base PS4.

Meh every PS4 owner has a high end pc(unless they were lying because of xb1x) so happy days fanboys.. right?

@Pedro: PS now is a monthly streaming service that gives an inferior experience to the consoles and releases the games for a limited time years after they first launch. As of now it's basically a sample of what owning a Playstation is all about. If Sony were to release all exclusives on the PC what reason would anyone own a Playstation for?

This rumor probably only started because GG collaborated with Kojima Productions on Death Stranding and let them use their engine. There is also dinosaurs from HZD in Death Stranding and Death Stranding has been confirmed to be coming to PC next year.

That would be dope. I really enjoyed HZD and plat'ed it. Would definitely double dip and play again on PC since it has been so long since playing it.

I would be surprised if H:ZD came to PC. I think the best we can hope for is the game gets patched when PS5 comes out and we get to play at 60fps or higher. It is a very good game aside from the shit 30fps on PS4 Pro.

But to be honest, I think Sony should release their games on PC too. It's easy money for them. Maybe not at launch, but maybe after a year.

Not surprising considering Death Stranding is coming to PC and Horizon uses the same engine. I'd double dip for the right price. Would love to see this at 4K60.

Why? DS wasn't a fully-fledged first-party game, whilst Horizon was. Unless this is indicative of a bigger move from Sony, I just don't see why the would.
