Apparently the game will release in late 2019 for current-gen consoles and PC. The 4Chan poster also claims to know that the game will be set in the capital city of London and that gameplay will be more focused on hacking rather than big gunfights. Apparently the game will focus more on smaller firearms and knives. This sounds about right for London, unfortunately. The poster also claims that Watch Dogs 3 will feature a brand new character and that players will be able to choose the gender, though they’ll have the same story.

watch dogs and assassins creed switching every year. while there will be no splinter cell. oh and choosing from male and female? in another ubisoft game? cant wait for splinter cell to choose between sam fisher and samantha fisher.

and heres another assassins creed rumored to be released in 2020

Source

Last year, it was officially announced that there will not be an Assassin’s Creed main title in 2019. Today, a user on 4Chan reports that the next Assassin’s Creed is reportedly called “Legion”, set in Italy in the era of Marcus Aurelius, during the struggles of his son Commodus and the year of five emperors.

According to the rumor, the game is set to feature two protagonists; Cassius or Lucia, who are descendants of the protagonists of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and it’s unclear if the canon is going to work like Syndicate or Odyssey, but it’s meant to feature heavy RPG elements and a story for both characters.

The game is being created by Ubisoft Sofia, and is the conclusion to the “Ancient Trilogy” and is coming in 2020 on next generation systems. It’s also the most First Civilization-focused game to date.

The main story is more involved in assassins and politics with first civilization and flashbacks to other points in Rome history being secondary.

According to the rumor, Ubisoft wants to make it feel more like assassins creed while feeling like Odyssey to make old and new fans happy. The game map is mainland Italy as well as a small part of Gaul and Germania like Libya in Origins and is set to feature a revised mercenary and cultist system. Big cultists and main story assassinations have those memory things.

yup. another copy and paste from origins/odyssey. RPG bulletsponges game they turned AC into. and will release in next year.

ubisoft are doing copy and paste. we already got far cry. next year we will get AC and far cry 6.

Lost interest in ac a looong time ago, tried the new one and didn’t do anything to renew my interest... only played watch dog 1 and thought it was pretty terrible so not much interest in a new one...

Haven’t played the new far cry either as bullet sponge enemies doesn’t belong in a shooter imo! Will definitely give fc 6 a spin though as fc 5 was awesome!

I'd be more interested in a new Watch Dogs than a new AC game at this point.

I just hope they go back to the more serious tone and weighty gameplay of the first one... even though the actual plot and characters in WD1 were pretty terrible, the serious tone fit better than whatever tech-hipster nightmare the second game was going for. I couldn't play that game for more than a few hours because of how actively annoying it was.

give me a video-game equivalent of Mr. Robot please!

I'm taking a break from AC games going forward, but Watch Dogs 3 I'd be down for.

A new Watch Dogs game is always welcome and I didn't like Watch Dogs 2 and I find the main character generic boring compare to Adan Pierce from the first game. Bring on Watch Dogs 3 set in London will be interesting. (I would've prefer Japan though)

Honestly I might bitch and moan about "yet another AC game" but to this date I don't think there is a single installment I disliked. I just really, really, really hope they bring it to the modern/futuristic era at some point soon and wrap the whole thing up. It would be a good spiritual successor to Splinter Cell, too.

As for Watch Dogs, I thought WD 2 w as a huuuuuuge improvement over WD 1 but it was not my favorite game. With that said, I might be into a third game.

Really wish Ubisoft would do something else though haha. Stop making these big expensive open-world games.

Higher risks involved

Higher rewards. Establish a new, even better franchise. The companies that do best are the ones that establish trends, not ride them.

Don't get me wrong, I love most of Ubisoft's established properties, but a company with their resources could do even better imo while also being innovative.

Ubisoft is one of the big publishers I still like, I'd hate to see them go stagnant.

It seems like they can't get a tonal balance right for these games. The first one stars Grims McGrimby from Hubrisville, and the second game is technicolor hipster vomit. Surely there's got to be an entertaining story they can make that doesn't go too far in either direction.

I'm going to agree with @ghosts4ever. We've seen waaaaay too many AAA open world games from Ubisoft (AC, Far Cry, Watch Dogs) that is pretty much the same formula over and over again. A new Splinter Cell game would be a breath of fresh air.

Who the hell would want another Watch Dogs? Are the previous games a silent hit I’m unaware of?

What’s next, The Crew 3?

Ubisoft, we want a return to gen 6 Clancy games. Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon (a return to the original formula), and Rainbow Six (a return to 3 would be nice - great campaign and Team Survival multiplayer). MAKE THESE HAPPEN!!!

Ubisoft's open-world games are the CoD formula because they sell. I don't often play MP nowadays but I love open-world games to death, I'm more of a single player guy myself but hey, as long as their open-world games are fun & engaging, no point in seeing Ubsoft taking risk. I'm not crazy for Assassin's Creed but I do love the Far Cry series and still playing New Dawn as we speak and I do want another Watch Dogs 3.

Am I the only one here who thinks Watch Dogs is an underrated, and unnecessarily hated franchise?

Especially the first one. Hell, Im a black guy and while I enjoyed both, even I thought the first game did alot of things better than the second game. That game really got swept up in the "downgrade-gate" hate from that E3 2012 demo.

Sounds good to me. The AC that comes after the next one (2022?) will be the really epic one though. Main team AC built from ground up for next gen. Yummy

Think WatchDogs should be set in China though: https://nordic.businessinsider.com/china-social-credit-system-punishments-and-rewards-explained-2018-4?r=US&IR=T

I agree it was a bit underrated. WatchDogs is like GTA, but with actually fun gameplay! Ok, the world is not as detailed as in GTA. But I take functioning stealth and hacking abilities over flip-flops that flip and flops.

People wanted it to fail after down-grade gate.

Why? You are already getting AC: Japan from Sony. :P

On topic, well WD is AC in a modern world so, it's not like AC is skipping a year. F**k Ubisoft I stopped playing their games.

they are not interested in making anything other than boring open worlds (assassins creed, far cry, watch dogs).

I have been waiting for next splinter cell but they keep ignoring it and announcing AC/FC/watch dogs always.

Instead of london how about they go to Munich or Budapest or Rome or Constantinople. Much more appealing than those cold rainy weather.

This franchise always seemed slightly underrated, it's nice to see it back in some form honestly.
