Bone fans still trying to justify $600 for ryse. If u try hard enough u can make any game seem good.
@Everyone say bad things about RYSE its sooooooo funny reading through the forums MAJORITY of the people that have beat the game on either HARD or legendary love the game ....SAYS ITS THE BEST LAUNCH GAME but go through the same forums about KILLZONE .....its a drag, last chapters is terrible, they miss KILLZONE 2, no AA in multiplayer, no chat lol, the game is stale that's the MAJORITY and they have no reason to play the single player over soooooo yall can make fun about the game but really people are saying its better than or they had more fun with the game than KILLZONE check any forum after they say they beat each game and their overall review RYSE is the better game.
There's no conspiracy. The game just sucks. That much has been evident from videos going back several months before the game even launched.
This is what Ryse's combat system wishes it was.
You know what's more satisfying than beheading an enemy by timing a quick time event? Beheading an enemy by using your horizontal slash attack, and aiming at his neck.
Oh please, that game stinks.

Pointing to another game that sucks doesn't make this game that sucks not suck.
I'd argue it deserved worse, it's such a terrible, terrible game.
- Voice acting is awful outside of Marius.
- Characters are rubbish. There's two women murdered you're apparently meant to care about and Marius' fathers death was too clichéd for me to care in the opening half hour along.
- It's cripplingly linear and handholds you despite it's mind-numbing simplicity (seriously the first hour and it's still telling you how to play).
- Shoe horned voice commands and awful gameplay that is not only tedious but kills the pace with constant slow-mos in every kill. QTEs and turret sections with exploding barrels make up the entirety of the gameplay and don't get me started on the pila combat or the AI.
- Microtransactions.
- The story is comical and riddled with clichés and there's a flaw every five minutes just to set up a set piece or the next piece of the so called story. Plus it tells you the story with entire seriousness.
- It would have been nice if there was a sense of historical accuracy and i appreciate it's a game but it's just too far fetched to be anything but laughable. It's like they sent out a 10 year old to researched stuff and were more than happy just to throw whatever sounded cool together.
- It's presentation is dire despite the shiny graphics. The animation is bad, the faces like plasticine, clipping during gameplay even in the QTE testudo segments, enemies lining up to have their "go" to take you on/standing in plane sight until their que, weird little flaws in the cutscenes and there's literally three enemy models which is outright pathetic.
I struggle to find anything redeeming about it except the fact that you might find it fun if you ignore everything about it like the flaw and just enjoy slashing through bad guys but even then you should be playing one of the many better hack and slash games.

nailed it.
I don't understand why these guys are so damn defensive about this crappy game. Oh well, life goes on.... At least Quantum Break & Titanfall look interesting.
I think with all the attention given to the lackluster gameplay, the story isn't getting its due scorn.
Like how the very first scene is supposed to be dark and moody with the building looking like it's about to collapse… meanwhile there's a fat asshole waddling down the hallway and barely able to run. Way to establish your tone, Crytek.
And like hoosier noted, with the hackneyed "oh noes, my family is dead, time for revenge!" plot. Whoopee. But hey, you can mask your flimsy writing and storytelling by hiring a good voice actor.
@Thunder7151: I agree Ryse is great and I would have liked the Metacritic score to end up in the 70-80 range, but regardless the game seems to have sold very well overall and most people I talked to enjoyed it.
I see it as more of an arcade-type game with basic and responsive gameplay. It's easy to pick up and play, and rewards good timing. It's actually refreshing because these days games can get a bit too complicated with their control schemes and you have to read a novel to understand how to do half the stuff.
It's not the masterpiece it could have been, but for me it's a solid 8-8.5 arcade style action game.
Ryse does not have deep combat at all. It's a shallow puddle compared to even the God of War series, which is also a very casual action game.
You should do yourself a favor and go pick up Devil May Cry 4 or Bayonetta for the Xbox 360 and see what a game with real depth in the combat means.
See that's exactly what I was referring to......not every action adventure game has to have a deep gameplay system like DMC4(a game which I love). Ryse is more about spectacle and just quick arcade-style gameplay, and some people like that....it's not trying to be like those games you mentioned. Anyways I'm not trying to convince anyone that's just how I see it and I really enjoyed this game, on my 2nd playthrough now and it's even better than the first.

It turns out typing in all caps doesn't increase the 61 metascore that Ryse received, and in fact, it remains a poorly-rated game.
It had some well received reviews and really low. I haven't played it so don't know for myself. No inanimate object deserves anything. If you like it, you like it. That doesn't mean others have to agree.
Why is it so amazing to most of you that there are those that enjoyed Ryse? It is no different how some PS4 owners enjoyed Knack! Different gamers have different tastes. I have learned to not always listen to what "professional" reviewers say as I have been suckered into buying games based on ratings...i.e GTA 4 and 5 which I found both totally boring.
