Since THQ has now shut up shop, would you buy Saints Row 4 if it was released?

No because saints row 3 sucked, I liked saints row 1 it had the story but then it had the whackiness, then saints row 2 was completely devoid of any real story or motivation for any character to be there it had even more whackiness to a fault...saints row 3 is the same the only reason I bought it was because of certain thq death throw sales where I got it for like 2 bucks.
So true. SR1 was such an awesome game, after that the series went to hell.No because saints row 3 sucked, I liked saints row 1 it had the story but then it had the whackiness, then saints row 2 was completely devoid of any real story or motivation for any character to be there it had even more whackiness to a fault...saints row 3 is the same the only reason I bought it was because of certain thq death throw sales where I got it for like 2 bucks.

Maybe. I heard that Volition had a bunch of layoffs, so I worry about it.Oh, by the way, check this: Saints Row 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Saints Row 2

Yup. Saint's Row 3's mission structure is fantastic. No other open world sandbox could touch SR3 from that standpoint.

The movie missions and game show mission were dumb, boring and had no thought put ino them. The only movie mission I played was the last one, which was great. There were others? Never played Professor Genki stuff, but it can't be any worse then the tedious mission design from GTA 4, RDR.

How?
Worse/shorter story with side missions added as filler.
Smaller/less interesting city
all the best side missions are gone (fuzz, sceptic avenger, fight club or crowd control among others)
less weapons (there were pretty much more melee weapons in sr2 than the entire sr3)
less customization
Anything else I missed in mentioned in this review

Same here..Saints Row : The Third was a Blast to Play!Day 1 if I have the monies. SR3 was tons of fun. Put nearly 80 hours into it.

Pfft..i have all 3 Saints Row Games and SR1 is by far the Worst.. and what would you know about the Story when you're stuffing your Face with Cheetos,Whataburger w/ cheese and Sodas during Cutscenes? No because saints row 3 sucked, I liked saints row 1 it had the story but then it had the whackiness, then saints row 2 was completely devoid of any real story or motivation for any character to be there it had even more whackiness to a fault...saints row 3 is the same the only reason I bought it was because of certain thq death throw sales where I got it for like 2 bucks.

I think Gangstas in Space was my favourite main DLC for SR3, though considering the quality of the other 2, it's not exactly saying much.[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]Maybe. Ya, there are a few points I disagree with (the Tron inspired level being one of them), but over all I agree with him that SR2 >>>>>>>>>>>> SR3.[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]Maybe. I agree with this 100%. I still like 3 but 2 was much better.[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"] Further: Saints Row 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>> any GTA game in everything gameplay-relatedfaizan_faizanTaking it too far.
Shooting - GTA 4 had average shooting and in the previous ones it was crap.
Driving model - SR3 had one of the best in any non-racer. GTA's is adequate.
Story missions - SR3's variety is obviously unmatched, and the design of the missions was solid throughout. GTA is inconsistent.
Side missions - GTA side missions flatly suck. Most of SR3s were fun, including Genki (I know I'm in the minority)
Character customization - no contest.
Weapon selection - no contest.
Vehicle selection - no contest.
I'm really at a loss as to what GTA does better in gameplay.
As long as It's made by Volition, yes. I'v surprisingly had a lot of fun with Saints Row 3 and I'm hoping the 4th one(If It's going to be made) will be just as good as the third one.

I agree with this 100%. I still like 3 but 2 was much better.I admit that I haven't finished SR2, but mostly because it had aged like a glass of milk in the desert. I can't go back in time and play it when it came out, so I can only compare it very unfavorably to SR3.
I was ready to love it the same way, but it was not to be.
