'The Third' was a Beast of a Game :cool:As long as It's made by Volition, yes. I'v surprisingly had a lot of fun with Saints Row 3 and I'm hoping the 4th one(If It's going to be made) will be just as good as the third one.

Ya, there are a few points I disagree with (the Tron inspired level being one of them), but over all I agree with him that SR2 >>>>>>>>>>>> SR3.

wait he said the game/tron part was wack? Yeaaaaa no.
finalfantasy94
Also a sour note ending? Guess he didint see both endings.Â
Probably.
Though the ending involving Killbane was confusing because I thought it had ended, even though there was another mission after it. So I am guessing that he is talking about.
Taking it too far.

Further: Saints Row 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>> any GTA game in everything gameplay-relatedCherokee_Jack
Shooting - GTA 4 had average shooting and in the previous ones it was crap. Trying to compare a previous previous gen game to previous gen game i see?
Driving model - SR3 had one of the best in any non-racer. GTA's is adequate. I don't even know what you're trying to say, GTA IV had the most accurate Damage model, GTA IV had realistic car handling.
Story missions - SR3's variety is obviously unmatched, and the design of the missions was solid throughout. GTA is inconsistent. You played it, You liked it, Opinions
Side missions - GTA side missions flatly suck. Most of SR3s were fun, including Genki (I know I'm in the minority)Â Opinons.
Character customization - no contest. GTA V will have it most probably, Also MODS.
Weapon selection - no contest. Mods, SR is trying to be a MOD for console players, GTA is trying to be realistic, You have to GO BUY A WEAPON.
Vehicle selection - no contest. Mods
I'm really at a loss as to what GTA does better in gameplay. A lot of things, First you have to tell me what things SR does better gameplay wise.

You are missing the point, SR is basically a MOD for GTA with stupid Car Handling and unrealistic physics, Do hover bikes exist in real life? SR is a joke, GTA IV is trying to be realistic as well as fun, I don't think i will EVER have fun with a game like SR which tries to be funny i don't know how even.

Shooting - GTA 4 had average shooting <------------- Trying to compare a previous previous gen game to previous gen game i see?Â
Driving model - SR3 had one of the best in any non-racer. GTA's is adequate. I don't even know what you're trying to say, GTA IV had the most accurate Damage model, GTA IV had realistic car handling. Realistic handling is the opposite of fun, unless you're a car nut or something. In which case go play GTR which is actually realistic, not just comparatively.Â
Story missions - SR3's variety is obviously unmatched, and the design of the missions was solid throughout. GTA is inconsistent. You played it, You liked it, Opinions like everything else we're discussing.
Side missions - GTA side missions flatly suck. Most of SR3s were fun, including Genki (I know I'm in the minority)Â Opinons. ibid
Character customization - no contest. GTA V will have it most probably (we already know it won't be on the level of SR3, your characters are set), Also MODS. If it needs mods to measure up, then obviously it's inferior. The game itself can't be praised for its mods, especially since it has no official mod tools.
Weapon selection - no contest. Mods, SR is trying to be a MOD for console players, ibid GTA is trying to be realistic in like 1 aspect out of 100, You have to GO BUY A WEAPON. Oh joy, it's inconvenient to use good weapons when you want to.
Vehicle selection - no contest. Mods ibid

Maybe. I heard that Volition had a bunch of layoffs, so I worry about it. Oh, by the way, check this: Saints Row 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Saints Row 2 Further: Saints Row 3 >>>>>>>>>>>>> any GTA game in everything gameplay-relatedCherokee_Jack

QFT!!!!
GTA pales in comparision to SR, especially SR3. The sheer amount of fun to be had in SR3 is unbelievable. GTA takes itself too serious. its too boring.Â
Cherokee_JackThat's it I'm getting off of this carousel. Play whatever you want, But to me, GTA IV is one of THE best games ever made.

Not what I heard. Koch was supposed to keep everyone on payroll.

No, I mean following Saints Row 3.I liked SR3 but the main problem I have with the series is that the world itself isn't really all that interesting. The reason I love the GTA series so much is because Rockstar seems to know how to create a sandbox with a convincing sense of PLACE. All of the cities in the GTA games starting with Liberty City in GTA3 all feel like real places (well as real as video game cities can get). Saints Row seems to be missing something. I love all of the crazy stuff you can do but the place that you do it in is incredibly dull.Â
Saints Row the Third was a big disappointment for me, I thought 2 was superior in almost every way. I would be hesitant for 4. monkeytoes61
Saints Row 2 was better in almost every way. World design was bigger and better, stories were better, missions and activities weren't as repetitive or boring, and there was more customization. I also liked how SR2 was an even mix of surrealism and grounded reality, it was a nice balance. SR3 got boring quick since it was nothing but crazy action 100% of the time. It was like watching a Michael Bay movie, it starts to wear on you after awhile.
Only thing SR3 did better than SR2 is optimization. SR2 runs bad on every platform, especially PC.
 No, Saints Row is what GTA used to be. GTA 4 was a good game but it was a really really bad GTA game. Fart in a Jar>>>>>>mems_1224Oh look, it's one of these criticisms.
"Oh, GTA4 isn't the game I wanted it to be, therefore it wasn't very good. I can always embrace the different direction it took, but I think I'd rather play a game that basically aspires to be a San Andreas clone"
Why would Rockstar bother competing with a series that's heavily influenced from their own? GTA4 was a breath of fresh air, a change of pace. It's painfully obvious that it wasn't trying to retread in the same territory, and the fact that people still don't see this is genuinely puzzling.
If you're going to criticize the game, do so for the right reasons.
Why the hell would I do that? GTA V already has me covered and then more. SRTT was trying to be fun as "Meet the Spartans" was trying to be funny; it just ended up being so, soooo stupid. I seriously doubt I would even take a look at the series again. "OMG111. dis game lets me be naked n i can wack lifeless peds with giant purple ****s. so much pwnnage!!" Â
