Sales: Halo 3 vs MGS4

Simple, which game will dominate the next gen sales?

Us lemmings have to face the facts.  Either Sony paid Kojima a load of money or he's just too stubborn to want to sell more games.  Xbox360 will NOT be getting MGS4.

In my opinion it is the BIGGEST mistake for Kojima not to bring MGS4 to the Xbox360. Sales would be atleast triple to what it would be if it stayed exclusively on PS3. 10 mill install base vs 2.5 mill. And don't BS about how the XBox360 can't handle it because as all multi plat games shows, they mostly look better on the Xbox360.

But honestly MEtal Gear Solid 4 already looks, and plays better than Halo 3.

Halo 3 by far. 

After seeing the lines Halo 2 had caused in 2004. I can't imagine what hype or hysteria Halo 3 may cause once released.

Because Konami focused on the graphics and cutscenes, while Bungie is focusing on the multiplayer first. Besides, if you really think Halo 3 will look like what was shown in the documentary, you are even more naive then I thought. Did you not clearly see many objects and textures unfinished? I mean they actually showed completley untextured things in the video and you think that is representitive on the final game? Bungie has commented plently of times how the graphics keep on getting better with every build.

You need to realise that different companies focus on different things during early development. I should know this as I'm a QA Functionality Tester for an outsourcing company and I see builds of next-gen games come in with graphics changing all the time.

1. That in-engine explanation is crap for these reasons......
a)no a.i
b)no physics
c)not actualy gameplay
d)very little enviroment shown
e) added effects, since its a cut-scene.

As system seller, halo 3 will sell more, i said that in my first post. But when it comes down to it right now, MGS4 is the more complete game. Adrian_Cloud

Bungie was focused on gameplay and AI in their videos and Updates. Konami is focused on graphics.
In the E3 06 Trailer it was more to show off Halo 3 then anything else. You weren't meant to see anything other then the new Chief and the landscapes.

Also, Bungie has said many times that everything in E3 06 Halo 3 Trailer is real, the Chief, the reflection of the Chief's visor, the mountains out in the distance, everything.

According to what? MGS 3 scored an 8 in gameplay, and Halo 2 a 10. MGS 2 scored a 9 in Gameplay, and Combat Evolved a 10.

A) I simply based my opinion on what i see, and the games that sell the most. I gaurantee you if most ofthe 360 owners were old enough tobuy gear they would have. GEars sales 4-5 million, 360 owners 9-10.5 million. Just estimate from there. The numbers can equal sales for both games, but i'm not benig biased at all. The majority of poeple who own PS3 are of the more mature audience. The 360 owners are more spread out. Adrian_Cloud

Yes, the conversation does end because it is nonsense.  You have nothing to back up that the majority of PS3 owners are 'of the more mature audience'.  In fact, with so many M rated games in their line-up you would think the opposite, but I'm not going to claim 'fact' on something that can't be proven.  Halo 3 should sell more than Gears, that is opinion.  Saying the majority of owners are mature age is opinion.  I can do it:  Only spoiled middle upper-cla$$ to upper-cla$$ kids and tech heads own the PS3.  See how I come off, it goes both ways.  Plenty of people of different ages get ahold of M rated games so that point is moot.  Why would you say 2.7 when Gears has outsold that, it negates any #s you gave even if they are out of thin air?
