well i cant comment on the sega saturn but PS1 is indeed the greastest console. The author says the PS1 is not even in his top 3. PS2 still has a shot to be PS1 though.

PS2 is better than PS1 and So is SNES. I'd put PS2 above SNES though

Saturn was a pretty crappy failure as well although it had the odd good game

I enjoyed the Saturn for what it was, but it was an aborted project IMO.

There are many worse consoles: Jaguar, Virtual Boy, Sega CD, etc etc

I blame Sega of America for the Saturns poor sales and reputation in North America.

It was a great console if you imported titles though.

Hardly. If anything the Saturn is the best console if you had the means to play Japanese games.

Dragoon yes, the others are not to my tastes, and I dispise almost all fighters.

It's a toughie, but for me so far

PS2 = SNES = 360, as my top 5 games came from those consoles.

Also, the Virtua Boy, Atari Jaguar or Sega 32x were the worst consoles of all time IMHO.

PS1 sucked BAD. PS2 only had good games late in it's life; for me at least.

SNES is defiitely a contender for the greatest console but i doubt it. From what I've played of the Saturn, which is very little, it's fun. Virtua boy is the worst major console of all time hands down.

Now that I think of it, Gameboy is prbably the best console of all time.

I don't even want to think about Sega's history, it's just too painful. So many mistakes, disappointments and missed opportunity's.

Neo-Geo was great, but games are way too damn expensive for it. I still think the Saturn owned in terms of SHUMPS. Battle Garrega, DonDonPachi, Cotton, Radiant Silvergun, Sexy Parodius, etc. just seal the deal for me.

I don't even want to think about Sega's history, it's just too painful. So many mistakes, disappointments and missed opportunity's.

I guess they're saying it's the worst because of the way it was handled and how it was one of the larger contributors to the downfall of Sega.

Sega in general just made alot of stupid mistakes.

SNES being the greatest console of all time is debatable.

Saturn being the worst console of all time is a down right lie.

I'm of the belief that the best console of all time is the newest one currently sitting in my living room.

In terms of worst, I can only speak on consoles that I've owned. And though it's blasphemy around here, my worst one is what those blogs are touting as the best one. Can't explain it. Just feel that way.

That writer lost me when he said the Playstation wasn't a revolutionary console. Maybe if you totally ignore the fact that it ended Nintedo's domination (for a reason) and helped contribute to the death of Sega...

The Saturn wasn't the best and it wasn't the worst console. But it had Panzer Dragoon Saga and for that alone, it owned.Aside from that it has some decent games, but the Playstation crushed it.

The worst console would be a tossup between the Jaguar and the Atari 7800. I don't know what Cnet is thinking but they are WAY off.

You can call worst console ever,consoles like 3DO- Jaguar or whatever,but no Saturn.

Snes was a very nice console,but dont think that rival (genesis) was that bad.So you cant call Snes best console ever.

To me,best console till now is PSone,not only because of the so many AAAE franchises that even now selling like crazy,even if are multiplatform (Like Resident evil,Wipeout and more),not only we see really new genres (Resident evil - metal gear solid - GT and more) ,not only it had VS competition the best titles for any genre... (Nothing could compete with anything,except SM64 and ZElda).

For me PSone was the best console ever. And im active gamer since amiga. Ive played with all consoles from Nes thru this generation.Best franchises ever made (even now are the best),many many AAAE games (Tekken-RE-FF7-GT-Wipeout and a huge list with more games).

I blame Sega of America for the Saturns poor sales and reputation in North America.

It was a great console if you imported titles though.

It's a shame that they totally screwed things up here in America, because it means that I get to miss out on a lot of what made the Saturn good. (Some titles, such as Panzer Dragoon Saga/Azel: Panzer Dragoon RPG, have scarce English copies, but common Japanese ones. Others, such as Radiant Silvergun, Princess Crown, a port of Castlevania: Symphony of the Night/Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight, and a certain couple of RPG remakes set on a terraformed moon, didn't even leave Japan! You don't understand. they are scarce "NOW" they weren't scarce when they released. Which is not different than rare games on any other system like the PS/PS2.

If you were around on forums like GF, you probably would have seen people posting pics of their 5-6 copies of Panzer Dragoon Saga, Radiant Silvergun, Shining Force III etc.

People began to hog titles when as usual, people began to notice what they missed.

You could buy Radiant Silvergun around $50-60 bundled with 2 other games like Gunbird and DonPachi.
