I know there's a topic about its cancellation, but I think this needs to be brought to light.
I never played Prey 1, besides the demo on Xbox Live a few years back. I can't say I'm THAT devastated by the cancellation of its sequel, but I was pretty hyped for it after seeing gameplay of it at last year's E3 conference. It looked like an awesome blend of the open world game Bethesda is known for with the atmosphere and bounty hunting gameplay of Star Wars: Bounty Hunter.
However, reports indicate that, even though the game was nearly finished and due for release sometime this year, it was cancelled by Bethesda.
WHAT WE KNEW ABOUT THE GAME
--------------------------------------------
1) In contrast to the native American atmosphere of the original game, Prey 2 expands the mythology by placing you as a bouny hunter, a former US marshal plucked from Earth, on an alien world in the same universe, experiencing the nightlife of the alien cultures seen in Prey. This would have greatly expanded the mythology.
2) In comparison to the generic military shooter which has saturated the market, you are a free agent choosing missions in an open world that fancy your interest, tracking down individuals wanted dead or alive. You can choose to go after your targets gun blazing, or opt to do things more... diplomatically.
3) The game would have featured Mirror's Edge platforming and travel across the overworld, freerunning across the rooftops of the Blade Runner esque cityscape.

SAVE THE GAME?
------------------------------------------
With recent endeavors like Operation Rainfall (localization of Japanese Wii RPG's) Operation Moonfall (Majora's Mask 3D) and the advent of Kickstarter-based game funding, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to save the game, since it was probably mostly complete anyway. I suggest we make an official movement along the lines of Operation Rainfall to save the project, as it promoted creativity and the evolution of franchises. Games like this, which take risks, continue to be canned while Activision releases the same damn COD game every year to billions of dollars.
Any name suggestions? :P
