Say some flaws about your preffered platform

PS3 is my preffered gaming platform (obviously)

Things I dislike about it:

1) The updeats, this is my biggest complaint. Some updates are not too bad, 5-10 minutes is nothing. But sometimes I have to wait 20-30 minutes, that is just stupid. 360 get's updates much faster usualy, like in a manner of 5-10 seconds. Why can't you do the same thing Sony? PS4 they better improve on this.

2) The PS Store needs a whole new design layout, it is hard to find the special deals that go on because it doesn't really show you. All you have when you enter the PS Store are these huge boxes that constantly change with new games, but even then it can be hard to navigate sometimes, it's best just to usethe search feature. Sony should make the PS Store more convienant and easier next gen.

3) On very rare occasions, the PS3 will get a bad port of a multiplat. Now this is down to devs being lazy as we obviously see all other multiplats being identical, and when devs do exclusivel on PS3 they are capable of pumping out the best games with amazing graphics that beat anything on 360. But still it sucks getting games like Skyrim or Fallout 3 where the games were broken at launch (for some people with Skyrim, not all). Thankfully these rare bad ports do often get patched and fixed to the same level as 360 (like Skyrim, Fallout, Bayonetta) but it would be nice next gen if Sony made sure this stuff never happened. Either by having a very easy system to dev for, or working with devs themselves. This issue though is very rare like I said, the vast majority of the time there is no difference between the two multiplat versions.

Overall though the PS3 is the superior system.

This thread is important because if you choose to accept everythign your given then you won't ask for improvements and thus you end up with medocrity. The only way for these companies to improve and make better systems is for you to demand better.

Ps3/Consoles

1. Hard to clean from dust

2. Updates takes forever

PC:

Heat. A PC is capable of turning a room into a sauna.

Unhelpful errors or error messages. Sometimes feedback is terrible and the next 10 minutes are spent googling the solution to the latest niche issue that the developer hasn't bothered to adequately sort out.

Local multiplayer. Few games support it and traditionally it was hot-seating (e.g. Worms). Very few do split screen (e.g. Dirt 3), which is irritating.

I still wouldn't swap my PC for anything else though (played Dirt 3 on a friend's PS3...wow...the gameplay is still there but the graphics feel so mediocre when you're used to the PC).

360: Pay 2 play online.

Ps3: Updates and installs.

PC. 1. Hardware problems. 2. Literally has about 3 games in average coming out every day but there's no universal store where they all come out so you have to have different accounts in different stores.tagyhag

I can see what you mean with the second point. That has got to be annoying. But it's an open platform so that stuff is bound to happen, but that also means more competition I guess.

wii: 1. No multiplats 2. waggle 3. ancient hardware PC: 1. Game can mess up and freeze 10x more than consoles 2. You don't really own PC games(even retail games have key codes) like you physically own a 360 or wii game.YoshiYogurt

The Wii is only good for Nintendo 1st party games. The motion control aspect is fun for a while but it wears off and starts to feel gimmicky. Hopefully the Pro controller can be used with most or all Wii U games.

I agree that it does suck not having a physical copy of your games.

360: thank god for xbl because the lack of new IP's is starting to wear on me ...Hopefully they're working on nextbox stuff

Do you mean XBL Arcade Games? Those seem to be a mixed bag, you find some good gems and some bad ones. Perhaps MS is working on new games for next gen, I expect the next Xbox to be announced next year at E3 honestly. With a release date in either late 2013 or early 2014.

PC:

1.Nothing is simple, building computers is boring and frustrating.

2.Not every game I buy on PC will work flawlessly

3.PC's are LOUD, I play with headphones to cancel out the loud ass fan noise

3.You can't interact with any key settings with the XMB while in game. Why even give you access to it if you have to quit out everytime I simply want to look at a photo or listen to music?

1. Thing is easily heavy enough to be a murder weapon.

2. Heat. As of late my fans have been kicking in rather loud after just a few minutes and it is cookin'. Hope its just because of summer.:(

PS3 is my preffered system:

• Change your online ID name: seriously i dont know why da f*q sony did not do this yet.. i created an account 5 years ago and dont like the ID name so why cant i change it? i dont mind paying even up to $10 to change but guess what? Sony dont want your money or my money :P.. this is my most wanted feature.
• Change the whole UI to something similar to the Vita: Vita have done it right, vita gets u even closer to your friends when you can know what their doing, what they bought or even like and suggest them games, i want something like that on the PS3.

I don't really know what my preferred platform is of yet because I recently started PC gaming and loving every bit of it, so it will take me some time to adjust the change and be familiar. So I'm sitting on the fence between the PS3 and PC, hence I should talk about both!

PS3:-

• Updates and installs can be a pain in the ass. PS3 is a console, not a PC, so it shouldn't be like that.
• PS Store, yep, I agree with you ShadowMoses, it could use some improvements. I've found Xbox Live Marketplace to be better and it's easier to navigate.
• The noise from the Blu-ray drive! I have a new CECH-3000 model and the noise is HORRIBLE when it reads the disc!
• Many bad multiplats that are better on the 360, this really annoyed me as a PS3 owner. Very frustrating! I paid a lot more for my console than 360 owners so why did I get a 2nd class service?!?! I hate having to check the comparison websites such as Lens of Truth before purchasing a multiplat. I shouldn't have to do that, I should have the peace of mind knowing that the game will work on my console identically with other platforms without checking anything. Life isn't as good as adverts, huh?

PC:-

• Some console-oriented games do not work very well on PC. They tend to be buggier than the native platform. Damn lazy devs.
• Stupid DRMs getting in the way when I start games!
• Technical problems are likely to happen.

PC:

• AO-DRM(not a big issue,as very few games actively use it)
• occasional bad port(I mean something REALLY bad,like GTA IV on release,or Saints Row 2)
• no used sale market(IMO,purchased licenses on DD platforms like Steam should be transferable)
• too many games(my backlog is on a steady rise,I don't know what to do anymore :P)

That's it.I have no problems with upgrading and paying for new hardware,in fact,I enjoy it.As for technical issues and game instabilities,I very rarely experience them,but even when they pop up,as an experienced PC user,I easily fix most of them(had a small monitor reftesh rate issue on L.A. Noire recently,got fixed very easily)...

Wii:

1. The system is weak as hell. Power might not be everything, but this problem made the system miss out on some really excellent games. I would have loved to play Crysis 2, Mass Effect, and The Darkness with pointer control, but that just didn't happen. Wii has some real gens, like Xenoblade, The Last Story, Red Steel 2, and Madworld, but there could have been so much more.

2. Storage is stupid. I don't know what they were thinking with a lousy 512mb. That disappears pretty quick with a few N64 and SNES games. An SD card solves the problem, but I didn't even download that many items before the internal memory was used up.

3. I wish you could use the D-pad to select what you want from the Wii menu without the pointer or classic controller. Would have made perfect sense.

4. There should have been more options for how you want the main screen to look. I don't care for the whole channel block layout. I'd prefer to have tabs for different things, like the Virtual Console w/ subcategories for the systems.

PC:

1. I seem to have run into more hard drive issues than anything else. Replacing it isn't a hassle, but it's a pain to put all my stuff back on.

2. Hardware can be pricy.

PC

1. Driver issues. Ever sine the last AMD driver update, disabling Vsync for me causes an insane amount of artifacts. Not the common tearing but i mean game manus flickering like crazy, stuttering, black bars, etc...

2. Separate accounts for all my games. I have games across my gamefly, gamersgate, steam, gog, green man gaming, and amazon accounts.

Xbox

1. Paid online and I get ads

2. p2p online gaming. I hate it when host quits and you have to wait for a reconection.

3. Laggy games sometimes

4. Low framrate/preformance.

ps3

1. A lot of the games dont interest me that much :/ Im probably going to end up selling it.

Xbox:

PS3 - controller is non-ergonomic and extremely dated in terms of design- all downloads must be installed after they finish - laundry list of decent-to-average exclusives - online structure might be free but being non-unified has disadvantages Pros, just to contrast: - online is free - multiplats are now largely the same (see previous for advantage) - fan is quiet, not a jet turbine - good media hub - interchangeable HDD + full USB support (no proprietary devices or limited USB support)Zeviander
