I still think the Elite is a mistake. I don't understand why MS is justifying the PS3's price.

i know exactly what i'm talking about. but you failed to mention the rest of my post. sony may have there own bank but they are firing 2,000 people, losing money left and right by lawsuits due to their own negligence and complete disregard for the consumer. sony has stopped manufacturing semiconductors due to the massive losses they were taking because of the ps3. (yes microsoft has their fair share of lawsuits but theirs are primarily based on anti-trusts.) 

I still think the Elite is a mistake. I don't understand why MS is justifying the PS3's price.

Anyway, does anyone know when the Elite is out in Australia? Just wondering.

They're firing people because of the Chinese Stock Market Correction that happened earlier this year. Get your info dude! Sony isn't the only one, many banks are laying off employess because of that stock correction. Mostly in Japan and the USA unfortunatly.

If IPTV becomes as big and useful as Microsoft promises it to be, the Elite could end up being a very good buy. That 120 gig hard drive + HDMI will be important for such functionality and compared to the Premium the Elite is a better value.

I just would not get an Elite now. I would take a wait and see approach on how good IPTV will be, if you are interested in it at all.

I honestly see no benefit to getting the elite. Its not giving me any more games, is it? When I get a 360, I will be getting the Premium.

Its like Goldilocks and the 3 bears - the Core is too bare and empty, the Elite has features I wont use and dont care about, the Premium is just right.

You're correct on sales numbers, however, you seem to negate the fact that the 360 was sold out completely for the first 5 months, which hasn't been the case for the PS3. I commend SONY for getting so much supply to retailers, but if the demand doesn't match, there are going to be consoles sitting on the shelf. Refer to every major retailer for examples. Had MS adaquately supplied retailers during its initial launch, I think that their numbers would have been much higher in the initial launch period.
