I rented this game today and want my money back. I remember playing this back in the day and dont really see any improvements. Its just plain boring, maybe Im over fighting games but usually I can be entertained for a few hrs at least. Talk about a disappointment.

I would be enjoying it if I wasn't stuck at my dads house until Wednesday, I thought the game was great.

It's great, leagues beyond DoA4. Much more depth and more features (as well as more replay value). I guess you're just not into fighters, or maybe you're just not good at the game.

I really enjoyed it, but like most fighting games, it lacked longevity. This is why i rarely play the genre.

I dont know how good you have to be, but I beat the story mode with 5 different people on hard mode in 30 min, with out any practice. Just not feeling the way the game plays.

It's not trash, it's just not different enough from its predecessors to warrant a purchase. It seems they were more interested in attracting new fans (bigger boobs, larger rings to help noobs avoid ringouts, Star Wars characters) than advancing the gameplay. The online and tag modes are a start, but the movesets, physics, and animations are pretty much exactly the same.

Yeah, story mode is meant as an introduction, and so you can see character endings. It's easy no matter what difficulty. Upper parts of the tower though are ridiculous as well as descending the tower. Not to mention the Apprentice in arcade mode (Starkiller) being incredibly annoying.

Soul Calibur 4 isn't for everyone, and Story Mode was definitely lacking...Tower of Lost Souls is much longer and presents alittle more of a challenge though...take your skills online though if you're so good on Hard mode...also there's create-a-character

Play some ranked matches. The CPU can't think like a Human. I am loving this game right now. Tons of replay value.

No, it doesn't. If you are bad at the game then it may, but until you get better you'll have trouble in actual competitions. Any good player can beat a button masher quite easily. DoA4 was not a launch game either, and had more imbalanced characters (ninjas, the only thing imba in SC4 is the SW characters). Tekken and DoA are more button masher friendly.

Is the game better to play with the d-pad? The ps3 version was all out so I got the 360 ver, and the d-pad sucks so its all analog stick, the moves seem harder to pull off on que.

I just use the Analogs. What character are you using as your main or are you going to switch around a lot? Sometimes it depends on the character.

well i mean beating it on hard mode with 5 different characters with no practice in 30 minutes is pretty good....so might have more of a challenge online or with Tower of Lost Souls

I honestly don't know some people have no issuse with the analog stick. I don't want to tell you the wrong thing but I am like you I cannot pull off most of the moves with the analog stick.

SC fight systemis a lot deeper than the DoA series fighting system IMO. As for SC4 I'm enjoying the game already clocked in 30hrs. When I play online I only lag problems once. Although story mode sucks this time around the CaS improvement's and online mode make up for it.

I'm still having fun with it,but I am starting to get tired of it (I've been playing it for nearly 50 hours). IMO DoA4 is MUCH more fun...I've been playing that game for nearly 3 years and I'm still not tired of it. Don't really know why,but SCIV just can't keep me in like DoA,and it doens't even have a character customization. o.O Maybe it's due to the counteless combos you can make up in DoA?
