Sony didn't waste our time with a shitty conference like MS. Face it, MS fell on their faces yesterday and their reveal was dogshit. Sony already announced the same features weeks ago without unnecessary fanfare and stole their thunder. MS wasted our time with a duplicate of the Scorpio reveal only to tell us what Sony has already told us weeks earlier, what a fail.

I dont get the endless console wars, Play the one who fits you, play the one who you friends also play on. I personally dont care that much for exclusives, I have own both but ending up selling my PS4... why? Because most of my friends play on XBOX and we play mostly Battlefield. :)

Considering when they're releasing it, they don't want to give away anything important just yet, while the competition could match that.

For example, Sony made a big deal out of loading times, surprise surprise, now Xbox are doing that too. Sony should have kept that to themselves until next year. By then it would be too late for any major changes by the competition.

If MS came out and revealed final specs I've no doubt Sony would alter their plans to overtake them on power, no doubt MS would do same if shoe were on other foot. I am guessing we won't hear plans from either of something more concrete for a while.

They would have been foolish to start the hype train of the console 16 months before it goes on sale. They want to continue selling the XBX. There will be several occasions to speak more about Scarlett. They just wanted to confirm rumors and most importantly let people know that it will have BC, so games you buy from now until then will work on it.

Good thought. I thought about that too. I think the difference is that the XBX still has a lot of life left in it. They could lower the price and give it some legs, whereas the X1 needed a shot in the arm.

Complaining at its best. It wasn't the big "unveil", it was announcing they are working on it, which made sense since everyone already knew it was coming cause of AMD. So why not acknowledge they are working on it, and give us all the info we need.

Also, I'm super hyped, it sounds amazing, I loved X, I love the new elite controller, love the game pass and love everything they are doing, and launching with Halo, what on earth did you want them to do 18ish months til launch?!?

This was done at a conference though. The same information conveyed via a couple interviews was hyped beforehand and given some figurative confetti.

@npiet1: Well let me ask you this. Are you willingly to sacrifice open-house platform PC over a closed-ecosystem just to buy PS5/Xbox Scarlet? I could be running my old GTX 970 to this day and still enjoy gaming on PC, 1080p is still good for most PC gamers, and if you care about raw graphics, of course your gonna need more GPU power like a 1080Ti.

Only when you feel there is a specific software that is not running with the quality and fps that you expect from your personal experience. Ignore new consoles, new tech, etc... only when you find such a game and you set it up to how you wanna play it and if it drops frames then consider new hardware to upgrade. Food for thought, nothing more/less.

@davillain-: I've got a 1060 6gb paired with a ryzen 5 1400. It dips below 60 on some new AAA games (GPU runs at 100%, CPU 99%). I prefer graphicas over fps but like to maintain it at that level. So for me to continue at that level I'll need to upgrade at some point in the next year or two. So instead of paying $1000 to upgrade (if not more). I'd rather buy both consoles. I'm a true manticore, I don't care about brands only good games. PC doesn't have AAA exclusives or are cheaper than buying on console like it use to be. Infact it's cheaper to game now on the Xbox since GP. I'm not going to get rid of my PC just don't see the point to upgrade it more when the next gen seems like in ratio to price and performance it more worth it.

Fair enough. It's your decision how you want you're PC to do. While I don't care for AAA PC titles like that, I just like everything to play and run better on PC. Nothing wrong with consoles, I just love the open-ecosystem that PC has for generations. I'll get a PS5 for sure, just for exclusive games however.

There's no doubt both PS5/Xbox Scarlet will focus on graphics over better framerates so that'll fit right up in your alley.

I think the difference between the Project Scarlet reveal and PS5 reveal is that MS actually teased about Scarlet. We had expectations going into that E3 that we were going to see a new console out of them. PS5 was just a random day interview that popped up online with no expectations from anyone. MS just didn’t deliver the goods with this one.

I didn't see or go into it thinking that, but if that's what they did then I can see why people would be disappointed.
