They did say why go first. So why did they go first?? Hmmm
Kaz Hirai has denied rumours that Sony will announce a new console before Microsoft, claiming that there’s no advantage to doing so.
Interviewed by The Times, Hirai was asked when to expect an announcement on the PlayStation 4, to which he answered: ‘Why go first, when your competitors can look at your specifications and come up with something better?’
From your own link..
Kaz say that to trow journalist off and not blew up their plans want to know what happen in reality?
Sony announces the PlayStation 4, launching at the end of 2013
As introduced by lead system architect Mark Cerny, the PS4 is based on a "supercharged PC architecture," with an X86 processor, enhanced PC-style GPU, and 8GB of GDDR5 unified high-speed memory. The controller is called, unsurprisingly, the DualShock 4, and features the Vita-style touchpad we'd heard about, and a light bar on the back to identify players. Each PS4 will contain a 3D camera to track the various controllers using the bar. The PS4 contains 8 CPU cores, providing almost 2 teraflops of computational performance. The power allows for 30,000 polygons to be rendered in real time (by way of comparison, Heavy Rain on the PS3 utilized 15,000). "Overall, our goal has been to architect the system to support a breadth of experiences," said Cerny.

Reality 1 month after what you posted sony reveal the PS4 AHEAD of MS xbox one with SPECS.
Confirming what sony denyed just one month before.
So again the crap @the-a-baum spewed was wrong and you can't change hardware like that, sony can't say lets way until MS say something to copy them what if MS talk 1 month before launch?
That is as sad as the notion of Sony not blocking used game in order to screw MS,which you people invented as well.
So next time see context analyse why then jump in.
