Sea of Thieves graphics actually aren't bad.

Best water in a game I've ever seen, the storms are amazing, there's still plenty of time to add lots more to do but so far the game is very fun.

Well I wasn't interested, but after watching the video and information about the small ship. I pre-ordered, can't wait to explore that huge open world, looks like a ton of fun if you like video games.

I may get on and see how the game has grown over the last (almost) year since I last played. Is there a PC play test yet? I really don't feel like hooking the X1 back up right now, but I may just to have some fun this weekend.

The best graphics in the world won't save it if it's a boring game, which it kinda looks like it might be. The game looks fairly empty, so you and your friends have to "Create your own adventure" which is kinda crappy for a 60 dollar game. Hopefully it's a decent game, but from what I've seen, it's looking a little bland.

does anyone know how to get in to the alpha? i keep getting email notifications about it saying its available but i dont see a code or link.

People criticizing a game's art style for not being realistic are as ignorant as those who only appreciate renaissance paintings and disdain any art that doesn't aim to be 100% accurate to reality.

Art Style/Graphics are fine.

It’s the gameplay I am worried about. I hated using the compass/map in Firewatch. Damn near ruined the game for me.

This game has footage of you walking around with a compass and that scares me.

You don't need to use the compass, you could provide back up for your crew while they hunt for treasure, stay on the boat as look out, follow others that have the compass and map out, even on the boat you could have other people be the navigator, you could be on the cannons or providing the music, while others are hunting treasure you could be re-stocking the boats supplies, hunting sharks, getting drunk in a tavern.

If you don't have people to play this game with then don't get this game, playing with friends with a mic is incredible, but solo play is insanely boring.

Oh and the graphics are great, nothing to worry about there.
