I think FPS work really well on it, NOVA 1 and 2 for example. Most of the gameloft games are pretty good too. And casual games like Slice it! and Angry Birds are great as well.
And people say iOS isn't a gaming platform... :lol:

FFT on iPhone/iTouch? Ugh. In order to show a reasonable amount of the maps on screen at once, the squares will have to be pretty small, which would make selecting a square via touch screen a huge pain. Tactics is my favorite Final Fantasy game (FF being at the top of my list of favorite franchises), but if I decide I need to play on the go, I'll get a PSP. I really can't see an iOS version being worth playing. A DS/3DS version could be cool though.
iGaming has some pretty awesome entries - as the guy above said, Angry Birds and Slice It! are great examples. FFT is going to blow some serious chunks though...the screen is too small, and control will be near impossible (or gimped). What are SE thinking, other than "MAKE MONIES!"!!1!"?
