I agree but that doesn't make BC2 the better game either. They are just games and as we can all recognize prety different despite the similarities. Believe it or not they can coexist without people crying over one being better or worse.[QUOTE="CleanNJerk"]Still, it doesn't make MW2 a better game... Many of those millions of players are the same kids who were 12 when playing Halo 3 so yeah. Not to be rude just saying. Anyone can pick up MW2 and play it well, BF BC2 for e.g will require patience and time to masster. Different trades...Couth_
I mean. I prefer Killzone 2 and Halo to both of them. That doesn't mean I have to go on the internet and complain about them. Give them 0's
I'll have a nerd toast to that its just impossible not to have arguments about this as you can tell when comparing anything from eating a stew with a spoon or a fork, to playing on Live, PSN or Steam. I still think MW2 is amazing, it has alot of problems though and regardless my favorite CoD of all time.both are overratted CTR360i agree, i have yet to see a shooter surpass TF2 in multiplayer excellence

Word.
You honestly can't trust the big mainstream review sites for games with massive amounts of hype and marketing - MW2, Halo ODST, MGS4 and GTA4 are examples. While I haven't played MW2, it seems obvious to me based on those user scores that the actual gamers aren't really all that thrilled.
We saw what happened with the Kane and Lynch situation. Games like these all have massive marketing and advertising budgets that they invest into sites like Gamespot. Bottom line, you can't trust the review.
[QUOTE="CTR360"]both are overratted shadow_hosii agree, i have yet to see a shooter surpass TF2 in multiplayer excellenceqft, both COD and BF:BC2 are just eyecandy and fads, tf2 is forever. most people got hooked onto BF:BC2 because it looks great, not because the gameplay is great or whatnot. the last good BF game was BF2 which is still played a lot by many people. bc2 will only have longevity due to unlocks, same with MW2.
[QUOTE="fzdk"]professional revieweres >>>>>> a bunch of hater FANBOYSbleehumWhere's the "hater FANBOYS" for Bad Company 2's user scores?
Heh, he'll probably get his buddies together now to go after BFBC2.
"Derr hay guizz letz giv da battfielzz 2 a bad revue LoL!!"
In all seriousness though, you'd expect the BFBC2 user scores to be more affected by fanboys since MW2 has sold way more and undoubtedly has far more subordinates scurrying the interwebs.
image speask for itself lol stop hating something becaus its popular

And the User Score pwn't you so bad :D
professional revieweres >>>>>> a bunch of hater FANBOYSfzdk
Profesional reviews? You mean the kind that gives a avrage looking and sounding multiplat a 10 score in sound and visuals?
I'd rather take the hordes of fanboys that cancle eachother out in the end.
Lets see: Bad Company 2 has better graphics than MW2, not only that but it has awesome awesome destruction, Single Player is longer than the 5h MW2 campaign. The campaign makes more sense than MW2. Characters have character unlike the crap we got in MW2...ghost is rememberd for ooooo look at the skill mask. Sound is better in BC2, in MW2 most weapons sound weak with a few exceptions and explosions in BC2 are just mmmmm. Weapons actually have recoil in BC2 making it a more chalanging game compared to MW2 which is hella weak in that department.
[QUOTE="shadow_hosi"][QUOTE="CTR360"]both are overratted Jamex1987i agree, i have yet to see a shooter surpass TF2 in multiplayer excellence TF2? I stopped playing that game over a year ago. It got so lame and I am referring to the PC version. you clearly played it wrong, there are vast communitys with tens of thousands of people in them all still playing
MW2 is lame, BC2 is far better for gameplay.. besides, you can fly helicopters! Why didn't MW2 have any vehicles, and why are the levels so damn small in MW2 also? BC2 FTW
Personally, i didn't think MW2 was as bad as ppl make it out to be. However, I also didn't think it was great either.
User scores speak for themselves.RichardStallmanNot at all as a matter of fact if you trust the User scores over the critic you really need to think again. Or are you one of the guys who votes MW2 low because it some how offended you? User scores are only worth a damn if your reading a individuals review of a game like some of the posters on GS create. I see no merit to silly voting systems where enraged nerds make constant negative votes on usually perfectly good games. Fanboys do this to rival console games.
that logic makes no sense. Cod is the miley cyrus of gaming. everybody likes her because shes popular, but then when people get their head out of their asses, they figure out she is an awful singer with no musical talent.review score: MW2 >>>>>>>>>>> BFBC2
Sales: lol @ BFBC2.
combine them together, MW2 is way better than BFBC2, and it's still the most popular FPS now.
oajlu
User scores speak for themselves.RichardStallmanLMAO just notived that haha, but you have to take those with a grain of salt, as a lot of people just hate COD, because its popular and didnt live up to COD4, regardless of it being a good game. but yes BFBC2 is def. the better made game.
User scores speak for themselves.RichardStallman
User scores mean nothing, especially here when one of the games has a league of fanboy's crying and whining about it's success while the other one doesn't...
[QUOTE="Couth_"]Theres millions more playing MW2 than BC2. How is that for a community impact?Still, it doesn't make MW2 a better game... Anyone can pick up MW2 and play it well, BF BC2 for e.g will require patience and time to masster. Different trades... its true! I have like a 1.4 KD in Modern Warfare2 and a .86 in BFBC2 haha yea MW2 really doesnt take much skill, except for maybe Search and Destroy games, but theres ALOT OF AUTO AIM from Knifing to Shooting in MP, and the Kill Streaks do all the work for you. Ill stick with BFBC2[QUOTE="CleanNJerk"]Exactly, community impact > Review scores. I see the gamer's score as far more outfitting than the main reviews, not because I disagree, but because if it's an online game, the communioty will truthfully respond to what they think. CleanNJerk

Why would you need to think again? Oh right, gaming sites are getting gaining monetary value for reviewing games so it is in their best interest to give games with large development and advertisement budgets high scores to keep receiving monetary gains. Yeah, that makes sense. Thanks for having me rethink user scores and how I trust them more.
i cant say anything about BF: BC2 because i havent gotten my copy yet, but to be fair to MW2, cheaters and hackers is what made MW2 suck. everytime i played it, there was another glitch or another hack. its full of cheaters. now BC2 has only been out a few days and it will take cheaters a few days to hack it.and when they do hack it, you will see the user scores go down as well.
I was super hyped for BFBC2. I'm not gonna say it disappointed because I knew the gameplay from the PS3 beta and demo. The multiplayer is a solid 9.6 in my personal opinion whereas the single player was maybe an 8.5.
Multiplayer
After playing a month and a half on the beta on one map and another month on the demo for another map, I'm still sold on it. Take in mind I never played MW2, but I did play a hell of a lot of CoD4. Anything that it and CoD do the same, BFBC2 does better tenfold. DICE refined what kind of gameplay they wanted quite a bit and it works extremely well. Camping works only if you're really damn good at it because flanking is key in the game at all times which doesn't work out so well for campers, especially when they forget the environment is destructible.
Singleplayer
It's nice but nothing memorable. The villain never truly takes hold as a villain till nearly the end. The missions you go on don't feel very rewarding once you've finished them. There's a whole lot of trial and error that goes on, you'll die a lot because the margin of error is slim to none at certain points. The enemy AI is creepily epic at spotting you, but blind as bats in other times. Your squad shoot a lot but at some points they'll have a whole gun fight with one or two enemies and not kill them until you do it yourself... yes you'll be killing tenfold amount they do. Your squad does a whole lot of talking, but nothing much about them personally... plenty of little antics. There's a huge build-up for 'the weapon' near the end that'll have your blood circulating. The biggest issue with SP is the fact that there are far too many times you'll find yourself way ahead of your squad when they let you take point (without telling you) even if you were walking, like they forget what they're supposed to be doing while you find yourself outnumbered in places where they should be helping then they'll randomly rush over and help out. The story feels kinda loose because it never really grasps what exactly you're doing besides aimlessly chasing a mystery device the whole time. There are definitely some nice heated moments in there though that will keep you engaged so for that I give SP a 8.5. A lot of technical issues hold the score down.
I would say the game is a 9.3 overall which is better than what I think CoD4 is, but it's weird because single player is nice but almost no one plays this game for that anyway. So if you're into MP you're getting a outstanding game, but if you're the select few who only care for SP then it's a rental. If you care for MP or both it's a definite buy.

I will probably pick up Battlefield: BCIIbefore the month is over but there is no reason to not like both Battlefield and Modern Warfare. They are similair enough to draw comparison but they both have pros and cons. As a game, from what I've played of both, Modern Warfare seemed more polished in both the campaign, graphics and gameplay, but Battlefield has tremendous potential in it's scale with mulitplayer. As for the user scores are concerned, we all know how easily some bitter gamers are with giving games scores they really don't deserve (applies both to tremendously high and rediculously low scores).
[QUOTE="SuperBobz"]lol wtf is oot? oh you mean that zelda kiddy crap? lol try againSorry tc, but I have to disagree. I liked the campaigns evenly, but the Bc2 multiplayer is much more enjoyable to me.
Oh and by your logic tc (that critic scores are all powerful), then OoT>>>>>>>>>>>>MW2 and BC2.

Yeah, preteens are too cool to like Zelda, MW2 is for grown ups.
lol wtf is oot? oh you mean that zelda kiddy crap? lol try againfzdk
User scores speak for themselves.RichardStallmanThis. All I can say is that I'm not big on shooter games, but I had to pick up BC2. The MP is just too much fun.
I'm too addicted to Bad Company 2 right now to even care that Modern Warfare exists (not that I did anyway)
Bad Company 2 did right everything that Modern Warfare 2 couldn't.
juden41
QFT the MP is way better IMHO

I hope you're joking. I think many people on this board would argue that OoT is one of the best video games ever made. Not many games have stories like this
