Damn all I want is Chuchu Rocket online again with the lobby system functioning. Good times. I felt at home.

I wouldn't mind downloading ps2 and DC titles (that I missed) onto the ps3.

Source

There's mention of a big announcement at the back half of this year, which we now know is the PS3 Slim and price cut. However, there's finally confirmation that Sony is interested in emulating all PlayStation 2 games.

The notes reveal that "SCEA wants to sell all PS2 titles on PSN." Whether this will come as a case by case basis, like the God of War remastering, or that Sony is creating a universal emulator for all PS3 models is unknown. Grand Theft Auto Vice City is one of the titles mentioned.

The publisher has been tasked with providing SCEA a list of titles so that they can choose which games they're interested in having exclusively. It is further added that "if we give them a long period of exclusivity they'll give us more marketing support."

I knew this was gonna happen and cant wait to download ps2 games :D.. i hope to see FFX and will play it all over again if they do it :)

[QUOTE="GulliversTravel"]It simply wont happen, the PS2 is incredibly difficult to emulate and then lets remember the PS3 is a difficult system too. MS could only get 500 or so titles working with an original as well as current-gen system that are way more simple to work with.

Umm the european PS3 60gb had PS2 software emulation, I doubt it's hard for them to do.

If Powerstone 2 had online in this case... I think I would be buying a PS3 sooner than expected. Unless of course it's around the time than I expected.

This makes too much sense not to do it. Although...PS2 titles are quite large, since they're DVD games, right? It may be a pain to have a bunch of 4GB games on your hard drive without being able to delete the data and have a separate disc so you can re-install them. Still, I'm very enthused. Wasn't a PS2 owner, so I would love to get my hands on Shadow of the Colossus.

I will come out as a full out COW if this happens.

Im a huge Sega Dreamcast fan... think of the possibilities!

POWER STONE 2 ON THE PS3!! WITH ONLINE (!?) Say hello the one of THE best co-op and competitive games EVER!!!

Oh man, then theres Sonic Adventure 2 with all the nostalgia, and we cant forget Crazy Taxi! Those are all games Ive played, but I want to try out so many of the DC that Ive missed.

I hope to hell this is true-- Dreamcast on PS3 with PS2 is a megaton that will annihiliate all other announcements. Oh God Im getting my hopes up! :D

DC game would be awesome. Power stone 2, chu chu rocket, Shenmue. Think of all the great games that could come to the PS3. I have a BC PS3 and while I don't use it a ton its nice to know that if I ever want to I could play some PS2 classics.

DC games would be a nice feather in their cap for the online games store.

I got a better idea for Sega:

Make a sequel to Sonic CD with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, & Amy present (with the game being in 2D & Amy not being playable, of course).

Then also have the original Sonic CD & make it the European or Japanese version with the Japanese soundtrack as an unlockable bonus.

A true sequel to it after 16 (or 17) years.

Also, have Shenmue 3!
