I have the option of selling my XBOX 360 PRO which is about 2 1/2 years old, it comes with 2 controllers, and 7 games. All for $400. The games are:

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (only game I play)

Call of Duty Modern Warfare

Halo 3

GTA IV

Rainbow 6 Vegas

Madden 08

NBA 2K8

And with that $400, I can buy a brand new slim PS3 and CODMW2, and probably another controller. Do you think it's worth it? I don't play any of my other games. Plus online is free with PS3 and it has a Blu-Ray!

How is trading in a console with 7 games for another console with 1 game he already owns a great deal?

Trade it in and you'll probably regret it later. Just start saving up for one so in the future you'll have the best of both worlds.

Funny thing is, you'll regret selling your 360 for a PS3 because Sony's online is pretty boring. Xbox LIVE is so far and beyond PSN it's not even funny. But the choice is ultimately yours.

Save your money and buy the PS3 outright, keep your 360. I would never sell a console. They aren't that expensive when you consider that like 4 games cost as much as a system.

I think one should never sell a console. Always save up for a new one, never sell one to buy another, unless it gets discontinued or something.

I wouldn't pay $400 for what he has. So yeah it is a great deal if really wants to get it. I am surprised someone offered that much. he would be lucky to get $300 out of me for what he has.

Eh I wouldnt. if you buy a PS3, I would buy it for its superb exclusivvea and maybe if you want a bluray player. If you dont terribly mind paying for xbox live gold, its a far superior service. I think xbox's are better for multiplat online shooters like MW2

If a person wasn't willing or couldn't afford paying for Xbox Live I could see doing that. Me personally likes the 360 more than the other two consoles and would part with them before the 360.

Like I said though, I'm not a person who is playing everyday. I'm lucky to get on once a week. And I ONLY play CODMW2. How is the PS3 network so much worse than the XBOX's? I'm basically getting a brand new system which is worth $100 more than a 2 1/2 year old system. Will I notice much difference playing the PS3 network?

I'm selling it on Craig's List. A person I know is planning on buying it in cash within the next 2 days. A couple of my friends just got PS3 and so I could be playing with them. Here's what it comes down to:

2 1/2 year old XBOX or Brand new PS3

No Blu Ray or Blu Ray

Awesome Network or so-so Network

6 Other games I dont play or no extra games (besides MW2)

Pay for Online or Dont pay for online.

Should work great if you are just looking for the basics. Online is great quality, lag free (speaking for myself here), and of course free. XBL does have some nice features, but as far as getting online and playing the games (and voice comms and all that), it will work great.

Blu-Ray alone was enough to push my decision over to Sony. A lot of people with nice TVs enjoy the quality of 1080p resolutions in their movies. Of course, i'm sure the lemmings will jump at any opportunity to downplay the differences, but anyone who isnt blind (and actually watching on a 1080p capable TV) can see its a massive difference.

They have these neat-o things called Blu-Ray players. You can watch Blu-Rays without buying a PS3!

TC, don't sell the 360. You'll end up bite yourself over what you'll miss. Just save up and buy a PS3.

I know some people at as if PSN is unplayable..the only problem is most of the people wont have headsets and u don't have 12 year olds cursing at u..most of the other games you have are pretty old and your 3 year warranty is running out....u can always get the 360 again later (maybe 360 slim) with a new 3yr warranty

Gaming is not my life. I have a job and am getting older, but I still like to play every now and then. So owning a PS3 AND an XBOX is not an option. Am I going to notice any differences playing on the PS3 network than the XBOX? Little kids on XBOX dont bother me. What are the negatives with the PS3 network?

The main problem for PSN is that it doesnt have Cross Game Chat (XGC) YET. But they're nearly on-par with eachother. Fanboys are the only ones always saying negative things about it.

Yes, a PS3 is the right console for you. You shouldn't pay for online when you only play one game. You'll still have access to all the major titles if you want to get them, plus a number of great exclusives and a Blu-Ray player which you'll probably make use of long through your adult life. Plus free Netflix and other goodies.

While I would normally recommend, as other people do, the benefits of owning both consoles, I don't think collecting every game out there is your major concern. While your gaming library will decrease in size, it seems you don't really play those games much - so go for it!

Selling a 2.5 year old Xbox 360 Pro is a major waste of money, plus you're likely to ripoff a paying customer with it's inevitable RROD. Not saying RRODs are common these days, but the fact that it's a used system can actually lead to RRODs.

Just keep it, and buy a PS3 slim.

If you're saying his system may RROD soon, then whether it's the right thing to do or not, clearly he would benefit greatly from the sale. If he mentions how old the system is and someone still gets it, then the buyer only has himself to blame.

I say get a budget gaming rig. Biggest selection of games and the games are quite cheap sometimes. Many games are also different from the typical console game. If you really want the PS3, go ahead, but PC has really good value for the money if custom built.

Yeah. $150 for the blu-ray player plus $50 a year to keep playing one game on his 360? This one seems like a no-brainer to me.

1. You'd have to be an idiot to spend more than $175 for a Blu-Ray player.

2. Why would he sell a system that works perfectly fine and has a larger community for virtually the only game he plays when he can just save up for a Blu-Ray player?

Ok, lets try again. How about this....

Maybe because he would be essentially TRADING the xbox for a PS3 (minus some games he claims he doesnt play) for $0 cost, where if he takes your suggestion, he is out $150 or so.
