just save up some money until you have an adequate amount, trust me whatever PC game you're looking forward to will still be played by the time you save up the money
No. The amount of money you would get ( compared to what you would need total for a decent rig ) would not be worth giving up the chance to play all the really excellent games you would otherwise miss out on.
And in the end, if you have to ask the answer is usually no.
If you cant afford a $1500 comp, don't get a $1500 comp.
The most you gonna get for a slim or a non-BC PS3 is around $200.... I'm sure you can get a kick butt comp for $1300.
It depends really, if there isn't anything on the PS3 to hold his attention now, there likely won't be anything ever.I'd sell it, considering that you're supposedly building yourself an awesome rig
Metroid_Other_M
Seconded. Although i'm a pc gamer dont sell your PS3. You are gonna get what 200, 250 at most. Meanwhile for 1200-1300 you can still build something powerfull. In fact you can build even a good 800-850 gaming pc nowdaysIf you cant afford a $1500 comp, don't get a $1500 comp.

[QUOTE="FragTycoon"]I totally agree with this. i can afford it, its just that it will take me a little while to get the money from the job that I have. If I could get a nice $400 boost from my ps3 bundle, then I could get going faster. If you cant afford a $1500 comp, don't get a $1500 comp.

If I could get a nice $400 boost from my ps3 bundle, then I could get going faster. The question is: how long would you have to work to raise the same amount of money that you'll probably get from selling your PS3? I would never sell my consoles (or PC for that matter :P) to get another system. I'll rather work my butt off and save some money on other things. If you cant afford a $1500 comp, don't get a $1500 comp.

I did the same thing with my 360, sold it because it was collecting dust and I never used it.If you care about graphics and having the most AAAs, AAs and As this gen you should do it.
Is your PS3 collecting dust, because mine is.
mitu123
TC i would save up your money, some great stuff is coming for the ps3 if you are interested in such games.
I did the same thing with my 360, sold it because it was collecting dust and I never used it. I think i will sell my PS3 too. I mean i can't believe no one informed me there was no backwards compatibility, i even bought some PS2 games i missed. And Heavy Rain which i looked forward to for a long time as a reinvention of the adventure genre was such an epic fail.[QUOTE="mitu123"]

My computer will cost over $1500 and I need money. should I sell my ps3?yentlequibleIf it was a 360 you were selling i would say yes sell it because PC and 360 share like every game, but you can't get PS3 exclusives on a PC. Don't do it, besides in my personal opinion console gaming is better, and you just might miss having the PS3 around after the excitement of the new computer wears off.

I don't get this. Are you really that dependant on other people's opinions? If you say you have a job do what you want with you money! This is not the place for guidence lol.
1500 dollars for a ready made computer? dude, buy the parts, and build yourself a computer. You dont need a 480 GTX or something, something like a ATI 5850 or GTX 285 can eat up almost every game currently on the market. 4gb Memory is cheap, a Q6600 CPU over clocked with a new fan, a decent motherboard, a BD Drive, and the normal accessories will build you a kick ass PC for alot less than $1000.
no no no no no
never sell a system to pay for another.. besides, PC/PS3 is an amazing COMBO
...also, why is your PC costing $1500? less than $800 should get you an above average PC capable of maxing out almost anything you throw at it

Yeah but, it's better to futureproof. $1500 is abit steep, but if he gets top of the line components, he won't need to upgrade for the next 4-5 years.
A great thing about the PC market is, if you dont have the money now, then by the time you save up a sum of money, chances are the card you were after will actually be cheaper.
PC components go down in price very quick so dont be in a rush. Selling your PS3 now will stop you from playing any great future exclusives it'll get and all you'll have to show for it is a graphics card that you could've got for cheaper if you'd waited and not sold your PS3. :P
