Hey, I have a wii, and got it on the release date in november of 06 (I think maybe?). Well anyways, I have run into a dilema. Wii is sitting back, while XBox and PS3 are in full gear, making awesome games, and much more variety. Another thing is that I am huuuuge into hockey, and was expecting NHL 07, 08, 08, 2K7, 2K8, or 2K9 to release for the wii, but none have. I got the wii in thinking that they would come out with some games that really utalize the sensor controls, to make it feel much more realistic than just pressing buttons on a controller. Turns out, wii sports was the most innovative use of the wii controls, and they've had 2 years pretty much to come out with better games, but were unsuccessful. So, I have come to the conclusion that I think I would like to sell my Wii, and all my games and stuff, to buy an XBox 360. For the Wii, I have HARDWARE: -2 wii controllers -2 nunchuks -HD cables -System (of course!) -Wii steering wheel -Guitar (Guitar hero) -Wii zapper (gun attachment) GAMES: -Guitar Hero 3 -Super shash bros brawl -World series of poker -Dave mirra bmx challenge -Excite truck -Ghost squad -Driver: parallel lines -Need for speed pro street -Super mario galaxy -Medal of honor heros 2 -Tom Clancy's: double agent -Zelda Twilight Princess -Need for speed carbon -Red Steel *All of the hardware and games are in excellent condition, as well as the console
Alright, so I really need your opinion! Would it be worth it to sell all of my wii stuff, to buy an XBox 360?
If yes, what model of the XBox 360 should I get?

Selling consoles is dumb, and a stupid thing i used to do when i was younger because i'd miss out on games that came out on the console in the future years.
I'd say just save up for a 360.

Well i'd wait till this holiday season to sell it on ebay i'm sure you'll make more on it then now but i could be wrong. If you don't like the Wii games then do it(i would to if i didn't). I should've gotten rid of my original xbox before it was worth crap(its been collecting dust for 3 years now).
Alright, thanks for your opinions. Well, I'm kinda leaning towards selling it around Christmas, because I would probably be able to sell it for more on ebay, when demand is up, rather than now. And also, thats a good point about selling a console when its worth something. If I saved for an XBox and kept my Wii, I would probably not play the Wii very much at all, so it would probably be worthwhile to sell it now when its worth something.
Another question, Do you think that if I sold my Wii and all of the things I listed, that I could have enough money off the trade in to get the xbox, without putting any money into it?

Wow, if those are the games you're basing your opinion on maybe you should tryplaying some games like Metroid Prime 3, Zack and Wiki, or No More Heroes.
I'm sure you could get a good price for the Wii itself, not so much for most of those games... And if you get a 360, just do me a favor and at least glance at the review scores for games.
i find it funny that so many people claimed they have sold there wii but the funny thing is i have never seen a used wii in stores anywhere i bet 90% of members in system wars who claimed they have sold there wiis never even owned the console in the first place:lol:
Okay, so I was just on ebay looking at prices of wii's. Although all the ones I looked at were new, they were around $275.00. This price is just for the basic system, wii sports, contoller and nunchuk. Would all of the things I listed be worth around 450$, or 500$ maybe? (I have no idea) I'm thinking that if i sold all of my wii stuff, I could maybe get an XBox console, and maybe Grand theft auto, and NHL 08?
Well games like SMG, Mario Kart and other main exclusives will probably sell the same then if not more but others like if you have Bully or idk some sports game get rid of it now. Just keep those exclusives in excellent shape. Then this holiday season set the starting bid for around 35-40$. With just the Wii and 3 controllers i think you could get around $325-$350.
Okay, so on ebay, I found a wii package that has a console, 1 contoller, 1 nunchuk, wii play, and wii sports, which is significantly less (product-wise) than I would be selling,
and it's selling at about $410.00.

you should get at least $700 for all that(if thats all you have on the 1st page).... Thats not including some of those games i dont know how much they cost like Excite trucks and Dave Mirra bmx.

Get the Elite 360. That extra space on the HDD definitely comes in handy if you get stuff from the Marketplace... But yes, very worth it to sell the Wii and get the Three Six Oh
I am very close to selling my Wii. I have some offers for all of my Wii stuff (that I listed on page 1). The highest offer so far is $700.00.
I am really considering taking this offer, as I have not been impressed by the Wii, and I was just playing an XBox 360, and it was pretty frickin sweet hahaha.
And for all of the one-sided nintendo hardcore lovers, I have always liked nintendo as well, (I had Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, and now Wii), and every system up to the Wii has, in my opinion been better then their competition (XBox, and Playstation 2), but the Wii has fallen far behind the XBox 360 in most aspects.

Well said, my Wii's hardly ever used but I'm always glad I have it, and i'd feel pretty dumb if I sold it and then a new Zelda was annonced or somthing like that. But I cant see any other game I want for the Wii in 2008, so if its your only way to get a 360, then get off this site and sell it.

Anyway, never sell a system, and you have a lot of crap games. More than half of your collection is crap. :| You might wanna get some games that have ALREADY been released that are excellent.
If I were you, I'd wait till after E3 before making a decision of selling it or not considering they'll finally show us what's coming in the 2nd half of the year as far as Wii games goes.
And like someone mentioned, you should have played games like No More Heroes, Zack & Wiki, Metroid Prime 3, Mario Kart, BoomBlox...etc instead of some of those games you listed.
Anyway, if after E3 there's still nothing that interest you, sell the thing.

if you have a friend with a 360 ask him if you can change it with you wii for 2 weeks and rent some games.
if you dont know people with a 360 than sell those game you would really never play again and try too buy a 360 from that money.

Bingo. You always want to know what you're buying beforehand. If you do this, rent Bioshock, Gears of War, Oblivion and GTA4 (if you feel inclined). You'll then know if you really want one.
