*Seriously** Who is buying the PS2??

I find it funny how some people on here are complaining that the main reason people buy PS2's are because they are cheap/poor and can't afford a next gen system are the same people who complain about the PS3's price tag.

Because...Of us. Gaming is getting popular, so everybody wants in on it. Including the casuals. And they don't have to be little kids. Kids don't buy anything theirselfs. Their parents do, Weapons/free.

How about because this gen isn't very different from last gen. Right now the 360 and ps3 seem like luxury items, like you buy those systems if want to spend more for some prettier games. The gameplay is roughly the same. The doesn't escape this either. You pay more for some cooky motion sensing.

This might all change when this new gen gets going and devs use the power to really outclass last gen (or in the case of wii, more motion sensing based gameplay).

Only idiots are buying PS2s.

You see as time goes on there are constantly kids who become the age where they want to play video games. Parents buy them a PS2 because it's cheap, and it's the most popular console, and it has a crapload of kiddy games.Trading_Zoner

Yup true like my nephew hes 9yrs old and the only thing he wanted was a Ps2 so they bought him a Ps2 and he alwayz goes to gamestop to buy those sucky games that only casual buy like one called griffin bounty hunter or sumthing like that i played and it wasnt that fun..

I am one of those. I missed out on the ps1 and ps2 gen. Cause It was too awesome on the PC but I am starting to hate upgrading my PC. So got a ps3 60GB to play all 3 generations. Sweet deal, imo.

Hooking on Front Mission 4 lately. And resistance was good like a PC FPS. Reminds me of Quake I or Quake II on the PC. Got got warhawk but haven't open it. Waiting for server glitches to be fixed. Also pick up God of War 2, Ratchet and Clank, and Kingdom Hearts 2.

lol gamecube has beta graphics than ps2. wii is hardly stronger graphics than ps2 and in my mind gamecube was a flop no-one i know has one!! whats more i think the ps2 is out there for the people who either cant afford a ps3/x360 and also theres no need to have an hdtv. furthermore lately ps2 games have been pretty good especially the ones that were released just when ps3 was a few months old.

Yah. I was going to say Doom 2 but doom 2 was still fresh then. Then I played Quake and I notice the AI was better than Doom2. And the game was more tight and polish but not new cause I played a lot of fps. So that is what resistance reminds me of. It is not new or fresh but well polish game. Oh and sometimes there is a lot on the screen too so it is just more of everything. More guns, more bullets flying, more foes, more carnage, resistance a very good to great fps imo. Worth a buy. Plus you get online which can allow a lot of players. I love online where there is 32 MAX or more.

I played Planetside for almost a year. Really like the epic large scale battle. Once has around 100-150 players duking it out. We we fighting for a bridge to get our tanks across the river. We fought back and forth for over an hr. Ended at a stalmate. Now that is epic scale I like to experience again.
