[QUOTE="dru26"]I was having fun, up until the 3rd stage train boss. I don't know what the f I'm doing, he's impossible.waynehead895

I am stuck there too.....

What's the idea for him...arrow the crap out of him and dodge?

I was stuck there too but what I did. Use arrows on head. When he shot those lightning balls by the thousands, dash repeatedly. If you can see the swarm of little ones coming at you, use ninpo just as they are about to hit you. Some blue orbs will appear out of half of them if you kill more than 5. Oh and uh the ninpo that is most effective is the first one you have. The bladestrom hardly works on him.

Nice..thanks for the heads up..

It's another reason people shouldn't look at scores alone--though not as polished as its predecessor, NG2 is far better than something like Heavenly Sword.fuzzysquash

That's the problem with people simply looking at scores. Since they don't bother to read the reviews, they don't realize that even the more negative ones still say the combat is an improvement over NG1, and Ninja Gaiden is almost all about the combat.

Beyond the technical issues, NG2 is superior to NGB in almost every way, including level design. If NG2 had spent another month or two in the oven for some polishing, it would easily be the greatest 3D action game ever. Maybe it is, regardless.

Its an awesome game, and the new weapons are awesome. The scythe, level 4 dual katanas and the claws are fantastic. But its pretty clear the game was rushed.

As a Ninja Gaiden fan I loved it, but it's a damn shame. It could have been infinitely better if they had just polished the games graphics and camera, especially the camera actually.

Vaasman

I am still on the fence about the camera...I have not had a problem..but I am on only the third chapter...so maybe you have seen situations I have not some across yet...but up until now ...all good in da hood..

Just wait until you get to chapter 5 it will really start to piss you off. And the first boss in chapter 6 will probably be where you realise it's a really terrible.

boss camera battles are no problem if you switch to a normal view with the rb button

Are you kidding? That just makes it 100 times worse, because then you can't see the boss. Why can't it just be as adequate as the one in black? On the bone demon especially it just lazily slides off of him or gets stuck in the wall and you have to constantly pull the r trigger to fix it.

sigma was built better, the framerate dont drop as much and the game textures are more higher rez than this game, other than that this game action is there, no game right now comes close to the action

Yes, it is....very fun. I was being a bit hard on it when I was stuck in chapter 6, at which point I was stuck dwelling on a few of the technical flaws it had. But, since I have kind of found my groove and got to chapter 9 by laying waste to everything in my path with a level 2 Scythe, and now it's all gravy again, lol.

In short, the gameplay, weapons and encounters you get in are so good, the flaws quickly fade once you get in a good groove playing. I am enjoying it immensely....addictive as hell. I would probably give it an 8.5 at this point, but I have a few chapters to go. So, we will see.

All I played was the demo, and I thought it was pretty fantastic. The camera was pretty terrible though, which bothered me. Gameplay wise it was outstanding, and I probably could ignore the bad camera if I did pick the game up. I won't be buying it anytime soon, but if it comes down in price a little I'll consider it.

I love the Eclipse Scythe. I think you will enjoy it when you fully upgrade it. It's like the Dabilahro, but it is faster and has way more sets of moves. That one and the Dragon Sword are my 2 primary weapons.

Well, I've played the demo about 4 times through -- and it's quite a hefty-sized demo. But, with exams coming up, I'll have to wait a few weeks to buy it. Can't have any distractions...

Yeah, the Scythe replaced the Dabilahro as the default Boss Killer in the game. It's definitely the best weapon for most bosses, and it's also great for most enemies since it's fast for its size (unlike the Dabi) along with being very powerful. It's probably the most effective weapon in the game in most circumstances.

I'm going through the game again and my main weapons of choice this time around are the Tonfa and Flail, since I started off at the beginning with them this time around and you get them fairly late normally. I try and use every weapon, though. It's fun.

The Tonfas are just great. It's cool to see Ryu beating hordes of armed enemies down with what amounts to nightsticks and kicks.

yeah the reviews for the game are just terrible. they're all complaining about the difficulty and the camera, things you should be able to get used to. But ALL games have to have some kind of learning curve.

I personally think the difficluty (the easiest one) is just right. I'm on the 9th chapter and i haven't come across any enemy or boss that i've had to fight over and over again, well ok, there is just one; the fire armadillo (yeah, you better run before he blows up), but the fight itself was pretty easy. The other difficulties are meant to be a challenge for the true NG fans.

And the camera, while it can be frustrating sometimes, is always under your control. I really don't know how it could have been better for a fast-paced game like this so i don't see it as a problem.

You can also cast a ninpo instead when the fire armadillo is about to explode. It is a trick I picked up when I had to fight the Helicopter scene from NG and I didn't have time to evade it's attack. It is much easier than trying to runaway(didn't know you could) from the fire armadillo boss, but you end up wasting a ninpo and won't receive karma point bonus.

This game really shines when you play the harder difficulties. Game speed is really intense.

I've played both games thoroughly

DMc4 has better visuals and better characters *you just can't beat Dante and Nero is pretty good for a new comer*

NG2's combat is more sophisticated though. That and the game is less repetitive.

Hell...you have to fight the same set of bosses three times DMC4. Once as nero, another time as dante, and the one last time as nero.

I think I made a mistake. I decided not to play on the first difficulty and started on the second. Much harder than I expected. I got to the "electric eel head train looking thingy" in CH 3 and had a rough hour with him.

But yeah what makes this game more difficult is the Health regeneration. Seems like it doesn't make sense but it does. The enemies take much more health from you so in any battle you're vulnerable to death. Once you finish off the wave of enemies they regenerate some health for the next wave. The health game is deeper now because of that. Sounds stupid though. But it works.
