Its impossible. I cant even beat the game on easy. I need a JOYSTICK.GiveMeSomethingYou should change the topic to reflect that YOU cannot play it without a joystick. I have been kicking all kinda of butt with the analog stick.
First off I would like to say......I am happy that everyone else is as excited about the game as I am, I have been playing it since it was released and have not played anything else since. Every one of the threads should be about this game.....This is my GOTD...yep...game of the decade. lol.
Now....on topic. I can understand what one guy stated about the analog stick vs. the d pad. I believe that you will get crushed by a person using a Dpad if both players were kinda equal. Then I agree with on point another guy made....I have been slaying guys with the analog stick. I've been playing since 90 and I KNOW when someone is using a D pad. They are just VERY precise. I miss moves with the analog stick at times, not so much when I have used the Dpad with other versions of street fighter. I really believe that they made the controls really responsive none the less.
Again..playing the game is like a dream. I love it.
[QUOTE="dark-warmachine"]Anyone here own the ps3 version of Street Fighter4 mind adding me? PSN ID: KillerWolf_7 I'm decent.:)jakaraiI'll add you I must warn you I am not that good though. That's fine with me.

I beat the game on the hardest setting with a Dual Shock 3.
I had 30 ranked wins in A ROW with the Dual Shock 3.
I have played 186 matches, with a 89% victory rating with a dual shock 3.
I would be able to do these things with a 360 Dpad, or Analog stick.
I have Beat the game with every character, and have 50% of the achievements with a Dualshock 3.
I just won a GameCrazy Tourney with 34 players vs. Me, and no arcade stick.
Arcade sticks are better, but as you can see, certain Dpads ROCK!
thats quite the amount of accomplishments in less than a week.....I think you need to get out of the house....with a dualshock 3 :P
I'm using the dpad and the analog stick interchangebly because my thumb gets really tired. And I still can't do any supers or ultras at will.PSdual_wielderYou using the DualShock3?

Where do you get the time to get so freakin good at some of these games? It looks like you play too many games to be able to perfect your skills in any of them.

SolidTY is on my PSN friends list. Since Wednesday, every time I've been on, he was playing SFIV. He must have poured nearly a whole day's worth of playing.[QUOTE="GiveMeSomething"]Its impossible. I cant even beat the game on easy. I need a JOYSTICK.SolidTy

Stop boasting:P
No, I don't believe in that, one of my strategies is surprising the opponent, and I can't go around doing that while showing the world how I play. I guess when I retire though...
I just love unverifiable boasts. Not saying that I don't believe you, there are some incredibly skilled SF players out there, but if you ain't going to put up.....You know the rest. you could always give him a match :PIts impossible. Maybe you own it for 360, that's why you need a joystick.
Street Fighter 4: $60
Exteremly fancy arcade stick: $140
Your face when you realize a kid beat you with the 360's D-Pad: Priceless
Yeah, I know that situation is impossible, the 360's D-Pad is terrible, but I found this funny.

He can even vouch about the trophies I claim to have! :)

Oh no, if it's a multiplayer, and I love it, I will keep on rockin' it. True, some games are just single player experiences, so I may not master every nook and cranny unless I love it, but for a MP game, I'm all over it. :)

Uptown
Yeah, I guess for certain games I go all out, and SF is one of them. :)
Gotta love SF, I got 1000 GS in Soul Cali 4, and a full 200 in Ultimate Mortal Kombat, Street Fighter 2, and Super Street Fighter 2 HD. I do have a knack for fighting games, so It doesn't take as long for me as most...but yeah, I love SF!

I'm playing Street Fighter 4 on the 360. I did fairly well with ryu but I can't do the supers. Every time I try to do the quarter circle move my character always jumps. Any advice?zeorshadow19Do what I do, switch to D-pad for supers and thumb roll.

They'll still jump though. Am I pressing the dpad down too hard?

No, to thumb roll you just lay your thumb over the bottom corner and do like a wave. As long as your thumb isn't above the right arrow you'll be fine. Its impossible to jump that way.Do what I do, switch to D-pad for supers and thumb roll.[QUOTE="Vandalvideo"][QUOTE="zeorshadow19"]I'm playing Street Fighter 4 on the 360. Technically, yes, you are pressing to hard, but it's not your fault, that DPAD does blow. You will just have to learn to deal with it, like most of us do, or buy an arcade stick, or better controller with improved Dpad...or buy it on PS3.
Playing this on the 360 is certainly difficult. Should've gotten it on the PS3.siLVURcross
Oh my goodness, you had the choice, why did you do that....I learned about the 360 DPad from a purchase too, Street Fighter 2 XBLA, but my learning cost me only $10. It cost you $60. I feel for you, bro.
I realize not everyone has both system's, and that's fine, but I would recommend a new 360 Dpad controller, or an Arcade stick.

Well I didn't buy it, I got it for free. I was a little indecisive about buying this game, but now that I have it, I can get a good taste and see if I should get it on the PS3.I've never been into fighting games but I dropped 15 bucks on SF2 just for the nostalgia....but now I'm really getting into it and if I'm not playing Socom Im playing SF2.....
Ugh now I want to play SF4 but 60 is just way too much for a fighter imo...plus KZ2 comes out in a week.
I bought SF4 yesterday and good God is the 360 controller awful for this game. You need to perform special moves constantly to survive and the controller makes it hell to do it, and I don't want to shell out more than $30 for an arcade stick.

Well, at least you found out that people aren't exaggerating about that Dpad. I play my PS3 copy more than my 360 copy, because sometimes I don't feel like using an arcade stick, and the DS3 is comfy and works great.
