Shadow if the Colossus vs Twilight Princess

I thought SotC was trash, it was a great idea poorly excuted on an underpowered console therefore the graphics were crap, XenoNinja

If you're going to bash it, bash the "pop-in" and "pop-out" that happens from time to time.  Not the overall look of the game.  Well, we all have our opinions.....

Honestly, the whole game looked like some colourless lego game., the main character ran like a spastic and the game was way too short. I finsihed it in 3 hrs. 

I am absolutly certain most of the people in this thread that said Twilight Princess haven´t played SotC, zelda is another zelda, SotC is innovation, it´s timeless, this game will change games, it will be a reference to game designers in the future. The game is a masterpiece.Eddie-Vedder

And I thought Nintendo fans are "Pro" Innovation. 

I would choose Ocarina of Time over both, but I would say Twilight Princess after playing it the 4th time is better. Beating TP with only 3 hearts was very fulfilling. If I didn't do that and get every heart container, I would say SotC was better because TP would became to easy..tocool340

STALKER is a longer games than MGS3, and they are both really good games. But MGS3 is far better, even if it's shorter.

As I said, I asked him directly if it being longer is the reason why it's better. And he said Yes.

And that logic, is DUMB.

Actually, no, it's not dumb at all.

Let's use another example:

Let's say you are poor and paralyzed with no family to help you. Then, out of no where, two men come up to you and each of them say,"I am going to give you $100." And then proceed to do so. Both men return the next week and give you another $100. However, the next week one man decides he's done his charity work and only one of them returns to give you the money.

Now, while I'm sure you would think both men are extremely generous, I'm sure you'd appreciate the man who stuck to it and continued to help you in your dire time of need at least slightly more.

His reasons for liking TP more is essentially the same thing. They are both great games, but TP (being longer)gives him more of that "greatness". Therefore, he likes that game more.

You see, all of your arguments fail when you add the quality of the title into the equation.

Shadow of the Colossus has the advantage of being new and fresh, while Zelda has the advantage of being quit a bit longer with a crapload more content.

I pick SotC just because it's new.

Now you're just clinging to semantics.  That question was a response to his statement that both games were quality, but that he had to pick Twilight Princess because it was longer.  You didn't somehow remove the quality from the equation by omitting it when you asked the question.

You can man up and admit that what you said was rude and uncalled for, or you can continue to make yourself look petty.  It doesn't matter much to me.

Maybe but would those SOTC bosses be their without the killer bosses from Ocarina of Time? I rest my case.

Anyway, if people have that whole "been there, done  that" feel from TP, why not get the same feeling from SOTC, Okami, and other games which have parts that are very derivitive or Legend of Zelda games.

Plus, will I be able to beat Shadow of the Colossus in 70 hours with not a single moment unentertaining?

Thats a hard pedigree to live up to.

I don't recall scaling any bosses in a Zelda game and actually the water boss in TP is almost exactly like the water boss in SOTC, and also I felt a much stronger emotional attachtment to the wanderer that I did the TP Link.

Is a really bad argumate when your disscussing whats a better "game." If it was whats more innovative, then it would work.

Imho, TP just didnt feel like a good game to me. It was amusing and all but it holds no candle to the other Zelda games. In fact, after spending 50 hours on it, I never once bothered to even go play it again for about half a year already. Everything just felt too bland and with the difficulty of the game, even a impaired special ed kid can probably beat it without much trouble.

SoTC was short, really short, that irritated me a bit since it was a spectacular game. It really was a fresh breath from mainstream gaming and it took an approach that most games dont even consider. What really caught me into it however, was the immersion factor and the artistic values behind it. The game felt like an epic movie, with an AWESOME sound track, best I've heard in ages. Not only that but the creative ideas behind the game were brilliant. Despite being short, this game was capable of immersing my emotions into it and really left a memorable impression on me. I've owned the game for about a year, and i've replayed through it countless times, still being captivated after each play through. The best games, to me, are the ones that stay stuck in your memories time after time.

I think its rather unfair to compare TP to SoTC, since TP wasn't really the shining star of the zelda series... If you were to take Ocarina of Time however, and then compare the two, it would be a lot more interesting.

although......I do disagree with their MM review, it should've at least broke the AAA mark
