Shadow of the Colossus is amazing. (56k)

Yeah, it was definitely memorable. My only complaint was that it was too short.

Even though it is old now, and the graphics (technically) can't compare to games like Crysis or gears of War, it is artistically one of the best games out. No other game creates such a sense of scale and isolation.It is one of those special games that stay with you for a long time after you play it, ad something everyone should experience, as well as ICO.

UGhhhhh!!!! Why do people insist on calling this a great game!!!?? The controls were incredibly choppy, the graphics absolutely sucked, and the boring repetitive nature of the game really got to me. Look for collosus...find collossus...fight collossus...next level repeat. The screenshots you posted make it look a lot prettier than it actually is. The only time the graphics are tolerable is during the Collosus fights...other than that they are dog-average PS2 graphics. Come on people. Some people say this game is underrated....I'd have to say that it's drastically overrated. Not worthy of a puchase.

There is something for a game that doesn't need a thousand lines of voice acting. The story makes you think and actually brings out emotion in the player.

its simplicity is the point. As is the "simplicity" and ambiguity of the story.

Then get some componet cables for your PS2 and run it in 480p and stop complaining. Its the PS2, not the 360. I am still amazed on how good it looked for a PS2 game.

The art direction and scale on characters were nice, but with the exception of a few areas, the overall game doesn't have much going for it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't the majority of the game huge boss battles in pretty wide open (and I mean OPEN) spaces with little or nothing to even look at artistically besides the boss and your avatar?

I think the Wii might turn out like the PS2. Super Mario Galaxy is an excellent example of what the Wii can really do and SSBB looks very promising. However, I'm afraid Nintendo will stick to the same formula. I know Mario is a hit and SMG is GotY but for once, it would be nice to see a new IP and a great example was Project HAMMER until it got delayed.
